CIG failing to understand physics.

Apparently when you have a head on collision you fly backwards. In fact if facing forward it appears you fly backwards regardless of the angle of collision.

I guess we don't need to wear seatbelts any more.

It's actually not the physics CI-G fails to understand, but the facing forward concept. This is why the development is running in circles, not being able to advance.

IF shippos1 AND shippos2 = 20 THEN GOSUB chuckguybackwards
Please, do give credit where it's due. GOSUB is too advanced for CI-G to be used.

As Tippis said - in the case of head bobbing, that actually is what happened. For a while there was head bobbing in the game, it felt awful to play and resulted in about the amount of hilarious clipping bugs as you'd imagine - so CIG added something to counteract the head bob so it basically appeared there wasn't any, even though there still is, for... reasons... Presumably for the third-person view? Although we've seen numerous counterexamples in the last year or so of the old "first-person and third-person views are identical" claim, so...
You can have a character bob around all you want in 3rd person and still have a fixed cam in 1st person. The 1st person cam needs not bob around with the character. And 1st and 3rd person cannot be identical. They are either 1st or 3rd person which means totally different perspectives.

"Looking at getting two servers to talk together".... i mean, really?

I can't wait for them to claim its never been done before.

Well, it hasn't been done before. Not by Genuine Cobblers Industries.

Whilst I'm here, has there been any news on the nested-roadmaps or SQ42 video?

Citizen's Mind...
Not getting it right the first time isn't a bad thing. The road to success is paved with failures.

Normally all those failures are glossed over and protected by strict NDAs but RSI / CIG practice more transparency than other development studios.

All this mess is due to the fideliciousity required by Chris: he wanted 1/3 person unification so in CIG's modus operandi they reinvented the wheel squared and brought more problems and tech debts ("refactor" anim, restabilize destabilized view...).

And of course, in the grand scheme of perfection and consistency, the never been done before thing has been ruined once the next Chris's fantasy has been put in : you can see your character shivering in 1st person but is standing still in 3rd person.

I wonder what the 14% Mystery Armour is?

A master artisan crafted, handmade budgie smuggler in tasteful beige, painstakingly wrought from the very scales of the legendary Sandwurmie itself?

I remember when the roadmap images had four columns
Interesting that the subreddit that's usually heavily populated by cultists is now in open rebellion, asking questions like "where is Chris" or "why is the roadmap not moving at all"..
The loss of elevator panel button rework is indeed a sad one, as these are now utterly broken in New Babbage, and otherwise done in a such horrible manner people would be excused to think they just dont work (they kinda do, after a while, with absolutely zero feedback..). It's also a "never done before" feature as never any other game programmer managed to mess up just a plain basic feature like elevator or door buttons, indeed.
