I hope all you loons and quines are enjoying the new SW game!
For me - it's just like the SQ42 beta.

wait....40 bucks for a FULL game? That cant be right. Does the tie fighter cost extra? Or is it just a loaner? What about when somebody kills you? Do you have to wait till the game retrieves the ship for you or do you have to cough up some extra cash to speed things up? How is it that this company can produce a full game including a single player campaign...in VR and charge less then other companies want for a tech demo? How does that work?
Confused.
You see. It never has been about jealousy or "hatin" on poor poor Star Citizen. Its just that other companies and development teams constantly show CIG up and demonstrate how "its done" and what to do and more importingly...whats possible. And then you look back at CIG and Star Citizen and you start to wonder why these guys dont manage the same even tho they had more time, a bigger team (how many guys was it? 630?) and way way more money.
Star Citizen is constantly claiming to be bigger, better, more then oither games and thats why those other games dont count but is that really important anymore when backers just want a game to stretch their legs in? Maybe with friends and add in some small games to keep everybody busy? Its no secret that SCs scope is also its downfall cuz its paired with the ego of a control freak who has no clue about the industry. Maybe Turbine will make a less-then-terrible couch-party-game out of SC in a couple years?
By "adjusts the HUD accordingly" you mean it is tinted blue on the edges?I was going to say blame General Dynamics with the F16's Dogfight Mode switch on the throttle, which is memory serves immediately sets the aircraft up with a close range radar mode (boresight possibly), selects sidewinders (if available) and M61 gun and adjusts the HUD accordingly, but these A10 ninja's got in first![]()
Which situation ?The supposed tools you mention are of benfit either way, in house or for contractors, so have nothing to do with the situation.
Dear sir, I regret to inform that you know nothing about game development.More parralel teams on same work with same tools = faster delivery of systems.
Had a look on reddit for you. Have you tried this...As for Squadrons...not playing it. It doesn't recognise my HOTAS throttle. I can either play with an Xbox controller or half a HOTAS, not doing either so it's heading for an uninstall![]()
If you're using Steam, try right clicking on the game, go to properties, General tab, and set "Steam Input Per-Game Setting" to "Forced Off".
That is a nice fiction.Which situation ?
The 'supposed' tools will be used in house AND by contractors. CIG want to multiply the creative teams and that's what they do. More parralel teams on same work with same tools = faster delivery of systems.

Illfonic would like a word with you about parallel teams.Which situation ?

...I haven't found a single bed to sleep in so far, I've not clipped through any ships, and they seem to have forgotten to include any elevators whatsoever.
.... it wasn't clear if Argon was present in the cockpit. I saw no Sandwurmies. I could not find a single bartender to fix me a drink. There were no Big Bennys machines around or gravitional well hotdog vendors.
Don't think you know more than I do about game development. Je suis limité par ma connaissance de l'anglais mais si je pouvais parler français ici je vous en ferait des pavés. Parallelization is never used in gaming industry to release (maps for instance) ? And the gaming industry never use man-hour to estimate a delivery rate on content ? The power of the tools, number of creators and their efficiency are the three main elements to estimate a delivery rate. Increase/decrease one item and the rate increase/decrease. We don't know the real power of CIG tools (seem good when we see it in action in dev video). We don't know how many creators they have now to create planets. So guessing the delivery rate is not possible atm.Dear sir, I regret you inform that you know nothing about game development.
It just doesn't work that way.
I have no evidence. We don't know exactly how many persons work on creating planets inside/outside of CIG. My guess is CIG will increase them at a given time and the fact that Turbulent have a team dedicated to it now can be a sign that the "given time" is now.Unless you have some evidence that CIG are actually increasing the overall number of employees working on the things the tools are used for.
Don't forget specs, processes and workflows. If they're not meticulously designed by CIG, they're good to waste tremendous times on review and validations at best, at worst they're working for nothing as all will have to be reworked (see Illfonic). And if Turbulent have to work on things for which underlying techs, pipelines are not yet ready or even designed on CIG side it's the same: work for nothing (see: the refactor-mania at CIG)The power of the tools, number of creators and their efficiency are the three main elements to estimate a delivery rate. Dear sir, what you provided was enough to reach the conclusion. Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later. That's called Brooks's Law, it is 45-years old and well-known.Don't think you know more than I do about game development.
