ok, question, what is the 1 piece of kit you want?

A more detailed question:
You have you machine going , the game is installed..
What upgrade/new part would really make you happy? -- JUST 1

In my case a Nvidia GTX 980

And before you say, well go out and get one... let's get real here.. The reason we DON'T have "our item" is because a variety of reasons we can't. I need lots of different parts, but new video is the highest need. The reason I don't save up etc if I am disabled, after needed bills and meds I barely have enough for food.

I recently bought the VoiceAttack and to buy even that I am now spending a week on Bulk Ramen.. see my point.

So, what is your 1 part?

A Thrustmaster Warthog.

I'd like the Oculus Rift DK2, as well, but if I had money for either I'd likely go for the Warthog, as the finished version of the DK2 should be cheaper and of better quality, with optimized drivers and software support.

Until FDev finish tinkering with the gfx engine and optimizing things i wouldn't like to speculate. Before SLI worked i was steadying myself for a CPU upgrade when the next batch of intel chips come along, but now that I'm getting 60fps in most situations, i think it prudent to wait and see what the released game runs like.

I would like a quality HOTAS with a twisty stick and a throttle with an analogue thumb stick, however. None of the current offerings really tick all my boxes.

provided my current system could run it well i'd have to say an Oculas Rift CV1, 3 monitors is great, no monitors is better :D

Unreleased kit would be the Oculus CV1, released kit would be the GTX980 as well, though maybe when the CV1 gets released the GTX1000VR will be the new kid on the block... :D

1 bit of kit? HA

I'd want at least 2xGTX980s - so I can run them in SLI/VRSLI mode to run my DK2, and then I'd also upgrade to possibly a 4K Monitor, or maybe 3 large monitors.

I want a CV1 Rift :)

As well as a complete new PC when it comes out. Oh and also a Buttkicker Gamer 2. Then I'll be good to go :D

What I most want doesn't exist. A 34inch, 21:9 format IPS screen with 1 sec g-to-g response, G-synch and a pixel density equivalent to 4k.

And a pair of 980s to drive it :)

You don't get it... I could list at least 6 pieces of tech... I would like them SLI as well... BUT...
Saying 1 means you have to define a single item that would be above all others, NOT your "Dream Machine".. If that were the option I would have asked what kit is needed to make your "Dream Machine"

One was specific for a reason. Actually several reasons.

I don't want anything else.. I've already spent way Way WAY too much on this :p

Alpha Access £200
X-52 £100
New CPU £75
30th Anniversary Skin £10
New gpu £210

Total: £595!!!

I've never paid more than £50 for any game and I blew over half a grand on this alone!! (No, I'm not rich, it's been a struggle). ..am I crazy? Probably, yes.

Well it might be more than one - but they all serve an individual purpose of providing a faster and better looking game.

That's how I justify it anyway

Since I've been into flight sims for so long, I have a reasonable (if not state of the art) computer and GPU. For peripherals I have a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat pedals, and TrackIR5. That was all before ED, just for other civilian and combat sims.

What I could use now, with the consumer Rift not here for a while yet, would be a new monitor.

I'm still using a 4:3 aspect ratio 21" NEC, because it's a "pro" color-corrected model for print graphics work that I do on the side, and the new widescreen versions with Adobe RGB color gamut are running somewhere in the $1,500 - $2,000 range. It's hard to justify because I don't do video work that would require widescreen, and my current monitor works fine for print graphics and also gaming, with any game that supports 4:3 ratio. One of these days though....

Meanwhile I'll be one of the Beta tester guinea pigs that spots anything weird or non-functional in a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is probably more common out there in the real world (still!) than hardcore gamers realize. :)

Greetings

I have an i7 2700k cpu and a GTX690 which was until not long ago the fastest single card in the world.

I don't need an upgrade in that department to play ED as it no where near pushes the i7 which isn't even oc'd, and as soon as they get sli to work the 690 will easily deal with anything graphically.

I just got my first hotas the x52 and I recently got an AOC 144htz monitor .

I'm on the fence as regards Oculus Rift, still not convinced.

So I have three options at the moment which I have been considering:

1.an ultra wide monitor and sell my AOC
2.2 more AOC monitors
3. keep what I have and get a reliable head tracker such as trackir

Seriously thinking about the ultrawide if I can get one cheap with a high refresh rate.
