Is this a big update? Are we privy to know what's being uploaded? Or is it the Horizons free for all upgrade as someone else has mentioned? Are the upgrade disks Thargoid shaped or Galnet shaped that you'll be using.

This is major time for a Thargsday! Any info appreciated.

Rather ambiguous post by FD.

Guys, I wouldn't get too excited. My money is that they found an exploit that will be patched out. Of course they won't say anything more until then if that's the case.

And wasn't the BGS tick broken recently? Could just be that...

Or it is not ambiguous, in that is is just maintenance that happens to take 5 hours unconnected with the game itself.

I'm just getting sick of it all.
My launcher hasn't been able to connect to the Frontier servers for 2 days.
This is about the 4th time this has happened to me this year. I've tried resetting the router numerous times and have just finished redownloading/reinstalling the game and still nothing.
I don't have ANY issues with any of my other online games, ie. ESO, Red Dead Redemption 2, No Mans Sky. Even Bethsedas games cause me less issues.
In the past I've submitted support tickets, but about the most useful response I get is, "Reset router", "Reinstall game"...
I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth the effort and aggravation.

Have you given EDLaunch.exe permission to access internet?
IIRC some time in the past I had a similar issue, and the culprit was my firewall blocking access. Prompt asking if this program should be allowed access was hidden behind the Launcher window. Can happen after an update.

I'm on ps4, so I'm not sure that could be the issue. I've finally managed to get it working again, but as usual my galaxy map has reset, so visited systems don't reflect with the filter. Rather annoying.
Thanks for the feedback though.

Question: downtime runs over the time when the BGS tick would usually take place. Are we getting a Thursday tick, or are we getting the day off?
