Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Perhaps CR woke up one morning after the Zealoh test session thinking it would be nice to have close combat in SQ42.
My thought is that the version played by Zealoh was not good enough for CR and that he forced his teams to redo entire levels and add gameplays not initially planned.
Nah, Zylon is just full of it. I mean excitement. Quite easily excited, in fact. Even roadmap roadmaps get him aroused. And when the excitement gets too much he spouts out something. It usually doesn't have any substance to it.

Ha ha "desperate".
They often show rough vid, vid with poor framerate and even vid with bugs. Nothing new here.
Wait for the release of the MSR before talking about slowly closing wallets !

So October 2020 has been their slowest funding in October ever and approx 25-33% of their yearly income comes in November & Dec. Ill appreciate an update on the tracker whichever way it goes, keep it open, happy to be proven wrong.

Not really, no. They end up doing that but not for a lack of trying to cut around it and cover it up.
They haven't shown anything this unfinished since before the game was supposed to come out, back in 2014. If this is the shape things are in as we enter year 10 of development, and they can't figure out anything prettier to show off like every other time, they are indeed unquestionably desperate.
Thats what I mean, they plan for ages what to show, or pick the best thing they have right now whether its relevant or not, and the best they have right now is a blue floor with an NPC that has 2 basic moves. Thats desperation to keep the fans attention coz its slipping, if they had anything better theyd have show it for sure, this is the best they have.

My thought has always been, how many levels?

Min 3 (max 3 I thought tbh using that language to confuse the truth) although stretching grammar could be 2, didnt say how playable or anything, just that he had played through them.

It is indeed a short October bar. Portents of a shorter XMas period sale-wise?

It's not the first time you see one month do less than the month the year before (november 2017, june 2018, August 2018, July 2019). You can't say that's a sign that backers slowly stop funding. In september 2018 you could have said it with solid data, not now.

Oh, but you can. It's not as big as November / December and we have abnormal year, too. But October is a strong month for sales usually.

It really is an amazing phenomonom. The less CIG does, the more backers spend.

At this point I think if CIG released a patch with nothing on it they would make a 5 million dollars in one day!

Shouldn it be more like "wait for the delay or drop of MSR before talking about frenzied spite purchases"? That seems more to be the case :D

Why are you even surprised? You dig up some really deluded posts and people. Guess what they gonna do when the going gets tough? Buckle down and open their wallets of course ^^

As Christopher Roberts awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a sexy bear.

It would be nice to have a space sim in SQ42, but looks like we wouldn't. Now we have this (NSFW Bartender gameplay).

An old stuff digged by TheAgent back in 2018:
Before I get into why this is dangerous -- especially for our product -- I want to talk about why I am posting this anonymously through a source that has their own complications.
...
Let me be clear and plain: mechanics for space flight, ground and space combat, trading and basic professions are 18 to 24 months away. This means out of our pre-alpha testbed and working how we want them to work. Notice that this might clash with how you, the backer, wants them to work.

18 to 24 months. For basic things. What this means, ultimately, is that things we've sold you -- things you have already purchased -- will have drastic changes and reductions. I'm not suggesting you refund; in fact, quite the opposite. In order to fulfil your earlier purchases -- even in reduced form -- we need you to pledge more. By internal estimates, we have another $200 million worth of tech that needs to be created, implemented, tested and released. This can take anywhere from 4 to 8 more years. 4 is best case, expecting no turnovers or unexpected problems -- which their always are.
2022 as an early estimate by inside source. And backers need to pay CI-G at least $100 millions more as of now to receive not what they were promised, but to receive anything at all.

Now shut up and take my money!!

She used to be a shareholder. 10% or something.

Has she finally cashed out?

I saw about 3 seconds before YT stopped it and asked me to log in. 3 seconds was more than enough!

October 2020. The 1st month after Q3, after SQ42 nit released, after 'Its done when its done', during the special Halloween event, during the annual Citizen Con, Star Wars Squadrons released (and failed by all accounts to keep long term multiplayer)...

October 2020 the final month before CyberPunk 2077 (I wont play it so cant comment), before ED brings out legs and FPS (not 3rd person though and no in ships at launch), something something Space Engineers type new thing I cant recall the name of, NMS I have no idea but seems to have settled down.

If this were the stock marker Id be selling is all Im saying. I can see the start of the decline. Its been predicted many times for a long time. Its my first time and I predicted October as being the first month of the decline. I posted it here somewhere saying next 12 months it either goes down the pan or it probably continues for 20 years more. Im still curious how accurate I am, so there is some confirmation bias....but its also what I expected.

I predict a slower than usual ship sale for the next one. I predict November & December cash is going to decline. And its only a few months away from collapse without cash from backers or Private Investors. I do not rule out PI being used to save it, I am saying public money is drying up and October was the first sign. CIG know this and its why they threw out any graphic that 'worked'. I predict more of this unpolished stuff as they try and keep attention, more distractions as the old ones dont last anywhere near as long as they used to, desperate to show they have achieved anything at all coz they cant answer the important questions. Theyll forget all about it 'not being up to our standards of refinement' and just show any old thing that looks new but the quality will get less and less.

I don't say it with 'solid data', its a prediction based on what I see happening, the same way I would the stock market.

Presumably you predict or expect business as usual? Cash will flow in in Nov & Dec and be a large % of the years take as has been for last 8 years?

We'll know within 2 months and I hope you have a Happy Christmas regardless of which way it goes. And if you havent tried Elite (got it in my head from somewhere you havent played it? could be 100% wrong so ignore if so) but its on Steam for $5 or similar I believe so maybe worth a shot. It is different but may give you some of what you want right now while waiting, rather than just waiting, and it should run on an average PC I think (im no expert I play on XB). And its a lot of un right now, theres a fair bit going on and a 2 year storyline we are just at the beginning of, come join us, hatred of SC not necessary you can keep all your opinions intact no problem :)

Could that be the mysterious IP cashout (sale) from the UK company accounts for $1.5m approx? Pure speculation as never worked out exactly what that was about..

It's true CIG had a poor October but the number includes that unexplained one day drop of about $1.4 million and another drop of $500,000.
