If you could only pick 30 more habitat animals...

I'm curious to see what peoples' favorite animals are, or at least what they'd prioritize to make the game feel most complete. Even though I feel aviary birds are needed to make the game complete, they'd need to take up at least half this list in order to properly represent them... so I left them off mine. Habitat animals only. I went over the lists I had already made and chose my favorites.

1. Sloth
2. Meerkat
3. Arctic Fox
4. Moose
5. Sika/Axis deer
6. White Rhino
7. Penguin (small species)
8. Sea Otter
9. California Sea Lion
10. Walrus
11. Elephant Seal
12. Leopard Seal or Manatee
13. Platypus
14. Fennec Fox
15. Alpine Ibex
16. Asian monkey species
17. Mountain Lion
18. European Lynx or Wolverine
19. Scarlet Ibis
20. Red Crowned Crane
21. Kiwi or Emu
22. Nilgai or Takin
23. Tassie Devil
24. Matamata Turtle or Snapping Turtle
25. Indian Leopard or Clouded Leopard
26. Binturong, Fossa, or Tree Kangaroo
27. Red River Hog or Babirusa
28. Caiman Bingo!
29. Any river otter Bingo!
30. Large penguin Bingo!

Any takers?

Hmm let's see. I think they'd have to fill regional gaps especially, add more biome diversity per region, and then add some iconic ones from already well represented places.

First, I'd add about 2 DLCs worth of European animals:

1. Red Deer
2. Alpine Ibex
3. Wild Boar
4. Red Fox
5. (A) Lynx
6. Chamois
7. Moose
8. Harbor Seal Grey Seal fulfills this role, so yay!

Then, there would be more additions to North and South America:

9. Puma
10. Roosevelt Elk
11. American Alligator
12. Capybara
13. Coati
14. Ocelot

A few more Arctic and Antarctic animals:

15. Musk Ox
16. Emperor Penguin What I meant here is "a big penguin". Check!
17. (A smaller) Penguin
18. Arctic Fox
19. Walrus

And then the rest should be some cool animals missing from Africa and Asia:

20. Clouded Leopard
21. Meerkat
22. Binturong
23. Malayan Tapir

24. (A) Leopard
25. White Rhino
26. Fennec

27. Gibbon
28. Dromedary
29. Baboon
30. Secretary Bird

Something like that. But thinking about it, there are even more that I would like to see in the game, so I hope they will continue making them. :) (Gah, already had to make a couple of edits to add ones I want even more... :D Frontier, just keep making more animals, please, okay?)

30? I'm going to leave off non flying birds as well (same for mostly wading birds or birds that can be on the ground but fly) Lets see:

Meerkat
African (or Amur) Leopard
King Penguin (Or Emperor but not both)
North American River Otter
Common Wombat
Cabybara
Three Toed Sloth
Moose
Wolverine
Black Backed (or Golden) Jackal

White (or Black) Rhino
Honey Badger
Crested Porcupine
Platypus
Coyote
Big Horned Sheep
Rocky Mountain Goat
Maned Wolf
Cougar (or any of it's other names)
Gibbon of any species

Asian Small Clawed Otter
Clouded Leopard
Alpine Ibex
Howler Monkey
*A second penguin species - maybe Rockhopper, Adelie, Humbolt or Cape African? Just want a second species.
Pacific Walrus (or another (sub?)species is fine)
California Sea Lion
Harp Seal
Harbor Seal
Leopard Seal

With the exception of some that could work as ground based animals (like the peafowl and flamingos in game), I'll leave off flying birds as well since they'd just take up a whole lot of the list. I would personally add the few large popular zoo animals that could be considered missing (like African rhinos, penguins, etc.) and then some smaller animals to round out the roster, since they make nice filler exhibits in between and IMO are what really help the game feel more alive.

1. Maned Wolf
2. Fennec Fox
3. Grey Crowned Crane
4. Meerkat
5. Humboldt Penguin
6. King Penguin
7. Nilgai
8. Blackbuck
9. Greater Kudu
10. Harbor Seal
11. California Sea Lion
12. White Rhino
13. Wombat
14. Amur Leopard
15. Guinea Fowl (I really think these guys would look great in savanna mixed exhibits.)
16. Clouded Leopard
17. Tasmanian Devil
18. Bush Dog
19. Capybara
20. Puma
21. Some kind of gibbon
22. Moose
23. Coati
24. Serval
25. Some kind of civet species
26. Wolverine
27. Binturong
28. American Alligator
29. Fossa
30. Three-toed Sloth

That is perfect, I have around this long list of ground animals I would love to see added! :D

In no particular order or theme:

1. California sea lion
2. Emperor/king penguin
3. Rockhopper penguin
4. Asian small clawed otter (I am fine with giant otters)
5. North American beaver

27. Secretary bird
28. European badger
29. Arctic or red fox
30. Kiwi bird

Hi all! For my top 30 animals list, most of them are not species specific. Instead, I focused more on the types of creatures that the game is currently lacking. By including species from the categories, gameplay would be more diverse as a lot of the mentioned animals would allow us to design habitats that cannot be done with the current animal roster in Planet Zoo. Additionally, many of the habitat animals Im wanting are on the smaller side, which the game greatly lacks. With this said, although some are smaller I wouldn’t want to see any of them in exhibit cubes; they all would function better as habitat animals and none are small enough to cause game-breaking issues.

Also, I left out fully aquatic and aviary-style animals because the mechanics for these animals are not currently in-game. (Although I think they would greatly improve the game)

  1. Meerkat
  2. Fox (any species; could be Fennec, Arctic, Red, etc.)
  3. Mouse Deer (any species)
  4. Guineafowl (any species)
  5. Capybara
  6. Sloth (any species)
  7. Wombat (any species)
  8. Tasmanian Devil
  9. Alligator Snapping Turtle
  10. Prairie Dog (or marmot)
  11. Przewalski's Horse
  12. Iberian Lynx
  13. Swan or Goose (any species)
  14. Duck (any species)
  15. Smaller Semi-Aquatic Turtle (any species; could be pond turtle, softshell turtle, terrapin, etc.)
  16. Otter (any species)
  17. Takin (any species)
  18. Weasel (any species; could be mink, wolverine, pine marten, etc.)
  19. Antarctic Penguin (any species)
  20. African Penguin (any species)
  21. Malabar Giant Squirrel
  22. Crane or Stork (any species)
  23. American Beaver
  24. Additional Swine (any species; could be wild boar, babirusa, peccary, etc.)
  25. Alaskan Moose (this subspecies because its the largest)
  26. European or Asian Deer (any species; could be fallow deer, père david’s deer, musk deer, etc.)
  27. Blackbuck (adding this would allow us to better flesh out Asian safari-style habitats. We currently have no Asian ungulates other than the camel)
  28. California Sea Lion
  29. Seal (any species)
  30. White (or Black) Rhino

A difficult choice (and one that would undoubtedly change from day to day, depending on what I feel would work well) but this is what I currently would want to see as my top thirty habitat animals - no diving animals and no flighted birds. 4. Fennec Fox
5. Yellow-Cheeked Gibbon
6. Clouded Leopard
7. Black Howler Monkey
8. Lion-Tailed Macaque
9. Asian Small-Clawed Otter
10. Puma
11. Saola
12. Dama Gazelle
13. Leopard Seal

20. Golden-headed Lion Tamarin
21. Coquerel's Sifaka
22. Harp Seal
23. Walrus
24. Galapagos Sea Lion
25. Saiga Antelope
26. Spectacled Bear
27. Fallow Deer
28. Markhor
29. Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey
30. Indri

Fun thread, I will give it a try, but with only 30 slots it will be incredibly hard to narrow it down. My gosh, I'm already hurting inside for all the animals we will never see.

1. Greater Kudu
2. Binturong
3. Meerkat
4. Black Howler Monkey
5. Marabu Stork (it acts just like the flamingo, zoos keep them in mixed savannah habitats)
6. Southern White Rhinoceros
7. Three Toed Sloth
8. Giant Eland
9. Gaur
10. White Backed Vulture (same as the Marabu Stork, it does not have to fly, and they can just hop around, mostly displayed in open air mixed savannah exhibits)
11. Guinea Fowl (this would have a similar animation to the Indian Peafowl chicks, they can just run around the savannahs)
12. Asian Small Clawed Otters (assuming they can finally add the diving/swimming animations, not interested without this animation feature, no more Orangutans please)
13. Indian Leopard/African Leopard (either sub species would be great as long as they include the melanistic variation)
14. Gerenuk
15. Chital Deer
16. Scimitar Oryx
17. Gelada Baboon
18. Colombian Spider Monkey (only if they can get the animations correct)
19. Florida Panther/Cougar/Puma (either of this variations in the species would be fine)
20. Addax
21. Black Backed Jackal
22. Babirusa
23. Hamadryas Baboon
24. Mantled Guereza
24. Yellow Backed Duiker
25. Egyptian Goose (I need something else besides the African Flamingoes for the pond, no need to fly)
26. Lar Gibbon (only if the animations are accurate, if not you can bury him where the fake Orangutan 😁 came from)
27. California Sea Lions (ONLY if diving/swimming is finally added to the game)
28. Diana Monkey
29. De Brazza's monkey
30. Clouded Leopard

Wait what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are at 30 already? WT.... this is ridiculous, there has to be a mistake, the list in my head says we are still at 5. We need a recount:p.

Now in my best presidential channeling: if we get rid of the animals with fake animations (in case that aquatic/brachiation animations are not possible) that brings my count back to 26, and I demand an additional four electoral colleges, I mean animals.

Alternatives.

12. Asian Small Clawed Otters (if the little guys have to suffer the indignity of not making it into the game, then another little fella should take their place, the ratel would be a cute addition)
18. Colombian Spider Monkey (if this ninja is too much for Frontier's Choppa engine to handle, then we can replace him with his neighbor the White Tailed Titi (what a beauty)
26. Lar Gibbon ( if this crime against humanity is committed by Frontier, then is either capital punishment or a suitable replacement, I reckon the Red-shanked douc is up to the task, as one of the most beautiful primates in existence)
27. California Sea Lions (If this Californian resident happened to get the ax because of Frontier's terror of H2O, then it is only fair and legal that another Californian wildlife champion enters in its place...........drums..........The California Condor (yeah I know, they fly, just make them hop for goodness sake and fly short distances like the flamingoes, must I tell you everything)
