Just sleep and watch the recap afterwards. There is almost zero reason to ever try to watch these things live.

Seriously, though, if you've not had any reason to sit through an awards show in decades, it's pretty jarringly worse than your imagination of such a thing. At least, it was for me.

I know I sound like an old duffer saying it, but it's hilariously awful.

It's been over an hour of the show, and no sign of Elite Dangerous.

8:20 PM Eastern, that's when it finally showed. 2 hour wait, or so.

For best ongoing game... not sure I share that opinion, but oh well... ED IS a niche game after all.

BUT, I do think FDev would have been more successfull in their communication if they just released the "trailer" on their Youtube and ignored this "Game Award" distraction... because I think it is a distraction.

Forcing ED fans to watch through this, distraction, is not a good idea from marketing.

They definitely would. People would get to see it a LOT faster, instead of the usual "only see it if you tuned in live, or be forced to wait three days while we twiddle our thumbs before uploading it to youtube."
