Using the term "Forum dad" on here is so ironic...

That is all a label is, a way of avoiding discussion and debate and trying to pretend the other person doesn't have the right to hold their position.
Hehe, I said something like that somewhere in another thread. I was called toxic, salty and attacking good people in this forum... Fantastic experience and very accommodating...

It happens a lot here... Braveheart throws a veiled insult, one throws the same back, Braveheart reports the post... 🤷‍♂️
I am sure it was reported as I got nice warning letter from the moderation Team. It said my response wasn't related to the topic, I have a different view of that but hey, who am I to judge...

This forum...name calling, pigeon holing, insults and antagonism reign supreme.

It's almost impossible to have a sensible discussion on here without one side or another making snide remarks or using insults, being patronising, condescending, marginalising and my favorites, being pedantic and obtuse.

I've been guilty myself in the past...shameful, and sadly a sign of our times sigh

My favourites are ones where, since I have no qualms smuggling slaves in the game, that I must condone real-life slavery. It's a classic.

Anyways, off to play fanatic purifiers in Stellaris

If have found all the forum labels pointless & meanlingless as on this forum over the years I have been called
A Forum Dad
A no life basement dweller
A Carebear
A criminally sociopathic PVPer
Wanting to pull the ladder away for new players as I was too many CR
Just being bitter I didnt take advantage of the Credit rushes
A Boomer
A Millennial

And other opposites

For nothing other than having a position that doesn't align with the poster 100% so much be part of some un-group that is morally undeserving of an opinion.

I've been called MUCH worse things that those :D

I don't know if "Braveheart" was a reference to me (as I am Scottish) but I've never reported anyone for "they said bad things about me" - if anyone starts that sort of shenanigans I am more than capable of handling myself in a clanging match.

The term "forum dads" is usually to the forum users who get miscalled for all sorts of curmudgeonly, because we don't want the rate of progression to be silly quick... Yes I've accepted my status as a forum dad. So all the grind-kiddies whine about how long it's going to take to get stuffz, and how hard that grind is going to be, and we get called "forum dads" who "don't want other people to have nice things", yet, the urban dictionary definition fo forum dads is "Forumdads usually complain about how hard things are in the game they're currently playing, because they only have 2 hours a week to play it." But, erm that's backwards - we aren't the ones who throw their toys out the pram when frontier "nerf" a credits fountain, so yeah, that takes away even more credibility for those who complain when their hundreds of millions of credits per hour fountain dries up...
Forum dad om this specific forum refers to the +70 demographic.
