Think of it as basically similar to a traditional christmas pudding, but we get it all year round and it isn't usually set on fire, garnished with inedible toxic spiky greenery, or breaking teeth on a well-aged and incinerated crust.

Also some citizens really seem to struggle with following through on their logic.... or... i don't know, they are just fine with this.
They seem to acknowledge now (some of them at least) that SC won't be finished for a long long time, seem assured its going to be great (despite evidence to the contrary from other games that were a very long time in development), and that they will somehow still be in a state to play the game by the time it is released. I mean, some of the older backers probably should be getting a bit nervous by now.

Well the EDO alpha doesn't have a subscription. It's got a one-off payment.
So clearly this was about SC. And the people who have hit $1k+ via subscription to some information videos, with bonus cosmetic gifts & ship access perks. Over the near-decade-long span of SC's alpha. On top of any jpegs / half-completed vehicles they may have directly purchased. And how utterly absurd that is.

EDO doesn't have a subscription!!!
SC too. I've only paid one time less than 50€ since I play it.
EDIT : misenderstood the previous post. It's correct that SC have a subscription. But it's not required to access the alpha.

Yes but it also has an optional subscription on top, which is what was being mocked. As well as macro-pre-purchases with a P2W lean, driven by MLM, 'gamified' upgrades, and in-game disadvantages. Which is what is mocked on a more casual and daily basis across the internet.

* SC will not come out. It will remain, on a technical stability front, a massive pile of jelly.
