Hosting player vs player events

the thing is i also want this when i'm wearing my elite feet flip flops, the fun pvp tourney's on foot as well that would be so much easier to organize with and indicator like this

This is currently what we have to deal with in organized tournaments:

Would be nice to have a simple HUD icon instead of having to wait for the recordings to upload.

...or just simply remove standard and premium synthesis.

Along with (at least) the most stupid magic effects like healing lasers (imagine
a weapon that heals instead of doing damage - what kind of idiocy is that?)

I have tried to bring that to attention in the forum just for open , so peeps could only use premo in solo and private and that resulted in salt for decades , apparently there are allot of people willing to do a weekly mat grind to get an upperhand in combat, so premo's are not going anywhere that is for sure!

That brings me to my shiny flip flops that i will wear as soon as my legs work , the game mechanics are totally setup for on foot premo's en synths .

WE NEED AN INDICATOR !!!

PVP in Elite is in my opinion one the the best combat aspects in the game , however hosting tournaments can be a real pain in the .... with the trading away materials and the premo checks in the modulescreen .

What if we had a simple COVAS warning "warning overcharged munitions detected" if you get hit by a premium round , this would make tournaments allot more appealing for more cmdrs

I think the simple notification about if you get hit by Standard or Premium Ammo (and you would also know if you are hit by Basic, as that is no indicator)

Also giving us a simple engineering symbol next to modules that are engineered, telling us that the module is non-standard, but you have no idea of what have been done to the module, or what grade. This could be useful for more than PvP, as when you scan potential PvE targets, you might take on that ship with the engineered weapons first. Or when it comes to PvP activities, host PvP fights in stock ships.

i like how you think but lets get this in first, i can almost imagine a wing pvp rock fight that just starts , without all the premo checks we could have so many more fights in one session , and it would be accesable to so many more people imo, implement it now i say so we can have it on foot later on as well #elitefeetflipflopgang

Alternatively, they could simply make it so that premium synthesis is only as good as regular ammunition, with the regular synthesis offering a damage penalty compared to the proper ammo.

Then again, I'm firmly in the camp that synthesis in general needs a near-complete rework, as it doesn't make much sense as it currently stands nor does it offer any particular tradeoffs or additional gameplay avenues.

That would be even worse, lol.

How would that be worse exactly? It would remove the added advantage of premium ammunition in organised events as they would only be as good as regular ammo from stations, as well as ordinary users who don't want to burn through valuable materials would give mods like high-capacity a better lease on life rather than being rendered useless by synthesis.

It would also remove any kind of need for an indicator, as premium synthesis would just be normal while the regular synthesis would be weaker and nobody would care if someone is shooting makeshift ammo at them. No need for an indicator if the two options are "normal" and "worse".

The problem with premium ammo is not the damage buff itself, but the grind-to-win implementation.
Which your suggestion wouldn't change. In organized fights it would keep the the damage advantage for whoever is willing to sacrifice G4 raw materials, but since it would give you normal basic ammo, there would be literally no way to check and enforce a "no premium ammo" rule*.

And as an additional downside you'd have to burn through your rare materials in organic PvP just to be able to do a simple rearm.

* Edit: actually it wouldn't be impossible ofc (you could still check the materials before and after the fights, it's just that there would be no premium indicator)

I agree; an indicator of premium munitions of some sort would be a very nice quality of life feature for those of us who like to play the game with other people 😁
I dig the COVAS announcement idea. I also wonder if an indicator could be added to the UI in the contact list (or even HUD if subtle)

i think it was cnarf who posted the premo check we use on xbox in this thread , its very elaborate and takes a ton of time before pews and its just silly that it has to be done to basicly ensure u can't cheat the system

Checks are done on buckyball racing too.
One of the requirements for a certain race was to record it on movie for the entire duration and it was a 2.5h race. On XB...

Checks are not silly and maybe PvP-ers should be less impatient.

And lets not mention all the checks that are done in RL competitions... Because let's face it. Cheaters are everywhere.
