Leaving your ship? How?

There's no requirement for anyone to part with their money if they don't feel that sufficient information about the DLC has been offered. It's up to each individual.
To be fair, I don't think anyone ever asked how we transfer from Vertibird to feet in Fallout. Or some other game with vehicles. In fact I think it is a thing that most players simply don't care at all about - it just gets balloned up on the forum.

Most likely:

Fade to airlock. Player is in control of their feet from the moment the airlock door opens. Player is now free to walk down steps/ride the elevator to the surface. Player steps into surface. Special music cue and Codex popup appear if first landfall.

Unlikely:

We get out of the chair and can walk across a non-interactive bridge to the exit door, which then fades us to the airlock. Then as above.

I don't know ... but I can tell you how I think it'll happen.
You'll look down to your roles panel, like you do for SRV.
You'll select "Exit on foot" (or similar wording)
The screen will fade to black
The screen will fade from black
You'll be outside.

That would be the only approach that will guarantee a Neil Armstrong moment* (but with the same short animation i was mentioning)...

* assuming it is not done for the first time in a Cutter cause that will turn into a really long and awkward Neil Armstrong moment
The Cutter might need an escalator instead of the stairs.

It is just a matter of principal. I did not pre-order as there is not enough information about whole ED:O. But you do not offer pre-orders on the product that does not exist. At this stage ED:O is few video snippets w/o any meet in them... So for me it is actually a fraud... I vote with my wallet...

Look at lower panel
Select "Immersion Breaker" function
Fading transition and you are on foot.

Instead I would at least provide legs in the cockpit and walk to the door.
Press button to open the door and then transition to ship exit (lift or stairs or whatever).

For me, the only logical way would be:
-open the 3rd panel, select "exit ship"
-camera moves away from cockpit chair
-fade to black
-fade in to cargo hatch opening and a ramp extending into outside floor
-camera moves with player while he walks out of the ramp.

The opened ramp would be the place where you could return to ship.
-Step into the ramp, select "board ship" in the 3rd panel.
-fade to black while the player walks up the ramp
-fade in while moving into cockpit chair.

Oh no, good Sir, they can't have us walk around on the bridge. Would be way too close to being able to walk around on your ship :p

My guess it will be pretty simple fade-in-and-out transition. Assuming ship interiors are coming at some point, it probably doesn't make sense to do anything wildly elaborate if you're going to throw it away in the near future.

Nah, I was wondering, because it will be the first step to walking in ships, what is promised too (later)

Canopy flips up, you can Engineer this for more hissing, dry ice, steam venting and flashing lights, plus raw speed. This will be up to G5 level which resembles a Led Zeppelin concert.

At G5, the player is propelled so far up into the tenuous atmosphere by their seat/jet pack that they eventually smash into the ground fist first like Superman.

The ‘Neil Armstrong’ moment is them slowly tilting their head up like Terminator, whilst still bowed down in the crater they created.

If ship interiors aren't coming in Odyssey at launch then I reckon it'll be you stood at the bottom of the steps in front of your ship after a short blackout.

I expect some sort of disembark animation with the option to turn it off, much like pre-launch flight checks. You sort of want it in the game, if only to see it once and then ignore it.

Interiors aren't coming, they've been pretty emphatic on that.

On the other hand, they've also talked about the "Neil Armstrong" moment, not the mention that the SRV and SLF transitions both place you elsewhere inside the mothership (briefly) before deploying. Everything points to you appearing inside an airlock of some kind and then being able to step out onto the surface, rather than a fade straight to the surface itself. It's a small distinction though, admittedly.

Not really kept up with all the various updates on it but I just recalled them saying that Interiors wouldn't be available at launch, they didn't say it wasn't happening at all.
Have they since said that interiors will never happen?

I mean in Odyssey.

You'll not catch FDev even speculating on what does or doesn't come after Odyssey.

I've got a feeling it'll be very close to this.

FDev still have a never say never approach to future content, but have also learned their lesson in managing community expectations. Braben's vision goes way beyond ship interiors, and he's still keen to realise it if and when the tech and development resources allow. There was a podcast not so long ago where he talked all about what he wants for the game, but under the guise of being a player from the future. Was a bit of an April Fools, but also him kicking loose with his wishlist of features.

Do you have a link, or even a hint on where I might find it? I have not heard of this and would like to listen to it.
