It's not about the advantage, I just play with the maximum possible fov all my life, it's already a habit.Yes, by editing ini files (on PC). It can provide some advantage, not as much as headlook though imo.

There are circumstances where using the external camera (to look over walls or get a plan view of your surroundings) can be useful, and it is possible to fly/drive the SRV that way, the compromise is that you lose the scanner & other HUD elements.
I'm also not sure that writing a 'mod' will work quite the way you intend, it might also be against the Terms of Service.

The problem is, it provides an advantage whether you claim to use it or not. It's a multiplayer game, either play it as it comes or play something else. Yes, I'm aware of mods for other games, they to usually require ALL players to be using them - I don't want a 3rd person view or a ridiculously wide FoV.
Oh, and as a 'mod' it would almost certainly breach the ToS. The devs have made it pretty clear that 3rd person is not going to happen.
Pinkyswear you'll only use it in solo? But I can use this modification in single mode.
It should definitely be against the ToS though, as there are meaningful balance implications.
Maybe modifications? I don't think it's difficult to implement something like that. Can you tell the community of people doing mods for elite?
Reminds me of thos youtube ads telling you that you can learn to code in 3 months... hahaha.
Lol, what on Earth - or, indeed, the Milky Way galaxy - would make you think that? Little about software engineering is easy. Trying to mod someone else's code when you don't have access to the full source is not always easy, either.
People give modders way too much credit. I love a good mod as much as the next guy and have used many extensively over the years. But the developers are doing the heavy lifting, folks. Chevrolet builds Corvettes; Frontier is Chevrolet. An auto detail shop puts a fresh coat of wax on the Corvette and vacuums the floorboards; modders are auto-detailers. They provide a valuable service, but don't for one second think it's a remotely comparable effort to designing and building the Corvette. And when you start talking about the Core Dynamics Federal Corvette... well, now all bets are REALLY off!![]()
But I can use this modification in single mode.
Already have a third person mode, just not a third person HUD. Probably won't get one either.
No one ever had a problem with taking pictures, but if you can use it to take pictures, you can use it for other things, including providing a tactical advantage (being able to observe while one's own vessel is concealed, for example).
You want 360 surround-o-vision from cam view? Try twitching the stick FA0.But I can use this modification in single mode.
No, that would be Core Dynamics...Chevrolet builds Corvettes
You're not comfortable flying in 1st person? I'd hate to be around you when you're driving your car in 1st person. Is there any way to play from a third person? I'm new to the game, I'm just not comfortable playing in first person. Maybe there are some mods? Can developers add something similar?
The text may have errors, I used a translator.
Is there any way to play from a third person?
Can the turret gunner crewman fly a fighter?Sorry, first person is the only option your going to get in this game, its fundamental to the Elite Experience. You can get a head tracker which will give you a better feel of immersion in the game and I feel it alleviates the need for a third person view.
The only way to play in a proper 3rd person view is becoming someone's gunner crewman but, as it give you a tremendous advantage, you get a fraction of the reward for kills.
