yes these are off too.Another questions, is how may people turn OFF some of the voice stuff, like the hyper jump countdown? After 6 years, just couldn't take the 3,2,1... Engage anymore! There's a lot of options for all these ED gives you, which is pretty cool! Like, why do I need to hear "Docking Successful"?I know it was successful, I am DOCKED and still alive! I made it, I get it!

Now that I think of it, the only game I keep music on in is X-Com. The true X-Com, that is.

just checking if we mean the same "real x-com" or are you a "terror from the deep"?

I generally turn off the music in all my games too but the music in elite is relatively unobtrusive. I keep it at like 20 percent. I especially like the surface music, nice and zen while rock humping.first tweak on any game is usually getting rid of music. usually after having listened to it once, which is enough.
sounds in elite are just sensational and a big part of the experience, and i have seldom need of music, not even my own selection. i just spice them up with a buttkicker that rocks my ... chair.
Yes, I turn the music off in every game I play. It's immersion breaking; there's no music in space. In ED I've also turned off the hyperspace countdown and some limpet messages.I've found it to be quite beautiful listening to the ship sounds and PA over the station ambience, without being distracted by what the game thinks it wants me to feel. I tried it once and didn't look back.
Has anyone else tried this, or is it just me?
