Was there something else announced around then, or was that in Pranav's original announcement 🤔 ... to the galnet archive!

Edit: Ah no - Alliance Elections

Satisfactory Update 4 is due then? Maybe we're getting a permit for Massage-2(AB) b in some epic crossover 🤔

Interesting results from the research CGs here - the graph shows the proportion of the mean contribution required to hit each rank, based on Inara's threshold estimates (which are a bit inaccurate, but not enough to matter for this)

Most CGs have very similar ratios throughout, regardless of type, participant numbers, early finishes, etc - even the Holloway samples CG didn't really break the pattern, though it is on the edge of the pack.

The only CGs which really diverge visibly from the pack are the Coalsack Trade CG (dark red line sticking out way above at the 25% threshold, presumably caused by the module reward originally being advertised there ... though even the Coal Sack AX CG with the same incentive, while having a high 25% point, doesn't break from the pack) ... and these two research ones below the pack (red sirius, blue utopia), where the vast majority of the effort was being put in by the top 10% (even more so for Antal), and the top 25% threshold is well below the mean.

Neat chart. Very closely correlated outcomes, with a couple of ouliers.

At the moment they seem to be trying to bring as many PP names into the story as possible. While maintaining complete radio silence on PP in EDO. Does make me wonder if we're going to get a PP 'Red Wedding' event ... 🔪 🤔 🗡⚔
So I've been thinking more about this idea, and I wonder if it's the wrong way around, as it were.

All three superpower leaders have their challengers at the moment - the Neo-Marlinists want ALD's head (and have a new toy to help, if yesterday's event means anything), Ed has an election coming up & has antagonising the Thargoids as a big strike against him, and Hudson could potentially be thrown under a bus for the Starship One incident.

Put all three in one place, and they end up being Red Wedding'd. In the confusion following the loss of all three leaders, the superpowers splinter, and the Powers (with a few replacements for the dearly departed) rise to take top place in the ED political tree. And in doing so provide more excuses / context for open conflict, including EDO's FPS combat zones. (Could also explain the radio silence on PP in EDO, as this would be a significant change they wouldn't want to talk about until the time was right.)

I'll put the tinfoil hat away now...

My main issue would be: what happens to Fed / Imp ranks if the superpowers are changed? I can't see fdev removing the ranks, even if they do attract some negativity over grinding. I also can't see them following my preference (peace conference makes powers more antagonistic - gaining Fed rank now loses Imp / Alliance rank along with associated unlocks - so you have to decide which side you are on).

It's a nice idea though :)

It would be amusing to make the old Powerplay collapse concept work in reverse and hit the most popular Powers, and it would stop there being a succession of unviable instantly-crushed powers.

The incentives it created for Powerplay Season 2 would be weird, though. :)

That, would be amazing. Or some sort of assassination CG where one leader is trapped and people need to either clear a path (or not :D).

Speaking of yesterday. Was there more going on than just that prison complex? I tried to follow up on that and tried to see if it was possible to find that terrorist hideout (in LTT 1935 i think) but it seems that there was nothing there.

I'd expect the plot to advance first - like galnet articles with the powers impressions or decisions based on this discovery. Then the public pressure will let us visit the factory to learn more (keep in mind this isn't outside the bubble), or this will be galnet-only, or either some mysterious explosion will erase that factory.

HALSEY SUGGESTS MOTIVATION FOR ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
At the trial of Fleet Admiral Vincent, former President Jasmina Halsey has revealed possible reasons behind the sabotage of Starship One in 3301.
Crime correspondent Ethan Takahashi reported from the Federal High Court:
“Jasmina Halsey provided details of a top-level Federal Cabinet meeting in late April 3301, an event which was never declassified. Its aim was to address the high levels of public dissatisfaction with her administration.”
“At the meeting, Halsey explained that she had been inspired by various peace activists to refocus on the wellbeing of citizens. She planned to reduce taxes, invest in social infrastructure and slash Federal Navy spending. As yet this was only a preliminary plan, to be implemented later that year.”
“Halsey told the court that only a dozen officials were present at this meeting, including Fleet Admiral Vincent. All were told that this forthcoming sea change in policy was confidential, but to expect major budget changes in the coming months.”
“The prosecution counsel stated that Vincent was therefore aware that naval defunding was imminent, something which would reduce his personal influence. It would also impact powerful individuals who Vincent was illegally connected to, evidence of which would be presented in due course.”
