GALNET - 22 FEB 3307 - Hudson and Winters Confirmed for Galactic Summit

“In his absence, Vice President Brad Mitchell will oversee congressional matters. There are rumours that Mitchell is positioning himself to challenge Hudson as the Republican Party candidate in the next election.”

That looks like a continuity error. Fed presidents are limited to one term. Hudson can't run for reelection in 3309 so Mitchell's got no need to challenge him for their party's nomination.

I guess that also means that in two years, Hudson will be replaced by Mitchell in Powerplay. Got to wonder if Nakato Kaine will replace Mahon if she wins the Alliance election in May (and it's interesting that May coincides with the release window for Odyssey).

not for all of us
there wouldn't be enough salt in this whole galaxy if they started to thread current stories into Odyssey specific gameplay before console's release

I was thinking more along the lines of Odyssey swapping out Mahon's pic with Kaine's. None of Odyssey's new content is needed to play Powerplay, so maybe it's possible for non-Odyssey content to be updated for the console versions with a small patch or server-side update at the same time as Odyssey launches on PC.

But all of that assumes Kaine will win in the first place. Mahon only needs a majority of the Assembly to back him, not the votes of billions of plebs like in the Federation.

It's not a reelection if you weren't elected in the first place. ;)

I reeeaally hope they have something big planned here, think we are coming up to the end of that 6 month point where the galnet stories are linear
what better way of introducing the community driven part with a slaughtering of key individuals

I feel really sorry for Jupiter's two kids. The two of them will never lose the stigma of being the offspring of a literal traitor, and to make things even worse it seems like their other father, Tomas, is disowning them. I really hope that this will backfire badly for him on the Fedneck's version of social media. (can we come up with names for a Fedneck, Imperial, Allied and Galactic version of those?)

Pushing your kids away just because your former spouse turned out to be a traitor? THAT should be a massive scandal and disqualify him from getting casted for any more movies.
