Can't choose another one of my ships in the rebuy menu.

So I have just lost a ship for the first time and it happened to be an anaconda. I don't have enough money for the rebuy but I noticed a stored ships button at the bottom. I have a python in storage that would be enough to pay for the buy back if sold, but I can't sell it for some reason. Any help is appreciated.

Haha, so often we see these threads. The first time someone loses a ship it is in an Anaconda.

Anacondas are not some sort of invincible ships, but i think some people think if they get one it makes them king of the hill. Many medium ships are better for combat than the Anaconda.

Now you've (belatedly) learned rule number 1: Never fly without rebuy.

Take the stock sidewinder option. Lose your Anaconda. Get into your Python (as long as you have rebuy cost for it) and learn from your mistake.

Hmm...another question sort of topic related, if I put all my money to carrier, will I be able to rebuy using carrier balance? :D Or fail?

To be fair, the OP didn't indicate the Anaconda was invincible - he just pointed out he made a mistake and was looking for help in knowing what to do.

More commenting on the trend. See it a lot on the Steam discussion forums. Grind to Anaconda without learning anything about the game beyond how to make easy credits, get blown up, doesn't have rebuy.

Its a story that's been repeated many many times.

So back actually on topic, the OP thought they could afford the rebuy, because of having stored ships which show up in the rebuy interface, and assuming it was possible to sell those to cover the cost of it. Now that is an easy misconception to have based on the interface having the appearance of that option and the game not explaining anywhere obvious that it doesn't work like that.

No doubt I will get blown up in plenty of ships, even when I know the ship, but have added new engineering upgrades; I'd have thought it was part of the process of measuring and finding out what you can (and can't 😛) take on(?) <O

Why do the stored ships show on the rebuy screen?

Exactly, but what does the sell menu on the rebuy screen do if not allow you to sell your ships?

It doesnt?

Ive only been playing 18 months and never knew that, Ive never needed to try and sell a ship but I swear Ive read threads where people say you can sell your modules and ships to make up the balance? Have I been misled? Did it used to work like that and changed?

Yeah, I'm guessing this has been bugged for who knows how long if you were ever meant to be in any way able to interact with the ships you have in storage from the rebuy screen.

Don't sweat the Anaconda, you'll be able to afford countless more in no time.
