I'd imagine it's quite difficult to get life insurance nowadays if you're a Federal Vice-President.

Since the last general election in 3300:
  • VP Nigel Smeaton, Liberal: assassinated, unknown motive and perpetrator, 12 Jan 3301
  • VP Ethan Naylor, Liberal: killed in Starship One sabotage 26 May 3301
  • VP Brad Mitchell, Republican: killed in NMLA attack 11 March 3307

If your surname is not Jupiter, you might need to reconsider the red shirts for VP.....

I also can't stop stressing this enough.

It was the feds that stopped the official LTT 1935 investigation CG. And now that event has led to their VP death.

Fed neck prez about to be hauled over hot coals for involvement in starship sabotage scandal suddenly (and conveniently) has a reason to boost his rep with a war? 🤔
I'm willing to bet fed clandestine ops are behind this either hands on or funding wise.
It's beginning to look like the kumo munching pirate King could actually be the most honest figure head in the bubble, at least you know where he stands and exactly how he got there.

As an Independent pilot that sides with no power. The Feds are now trying to shift blame for their own actions giving terrorist group safe haven. There will be consequences coming or least should be. They can't take anymore hits in their political aspect after Jupiter Rochester basically made them look bad.

Now for my prediction in the matters of the NMLA having the highest success rate of clean security breaching known in history. I believe there is one individual capable of doing this now the questions are " If this person is with them, got paid to teach, or being forced in a position of helping the NMLA". At this point it has been while since we heard of such clean break ins. I believe individual known as "The Winking Cat Thief" may have something to do with this. The thief at this point is the only person who had successfully broken into high security in all three power controlled space ( Alliance, Feds, Imps).

I am not implicating the Winking Cat Thief to be NMLA but may have contributed in their abilities to move around in areas undetected freely. Will have to wait and see.

The way I understood the Galnet article at the time was that the IISS went into LTT 1935 alone at first, then got shot at by Federal security forces, resulting in the IISS requesting military aid. But yeah, Patreus read this as "take over the system please" instead of "could you provide cover?"
