Let me start by saying that I have no oar in that boat, I'm a PC gamer, with cobra Mk.IV access, and I have no intention of moving to PS4/5, so it's not that I'm trying to envigo my way into Cobra Mk.IV access by creating a loophole through which I'd benefit. It's just that on PC we got the Cobra Mk.IV access as a reward for preordering horizons, on XB1 tehy got Cobra Mk.IV access for preordering the game, actually ordering it within a window after the launch date on that platform, yet Playstation CMDR's have NEVER been able to get a Cobra Mk.IV. While the Cobra Mk.IV isn't the gosh darned bestest ship in t'entire galaxy, infact it's a few "kylies" (thousands of lightyears) from it IMHO, it's NOT FAIR that an entire platform hasn't been able to access it. So, that brings me to the question, who would y'all feel if the Cobra Mk.IV was made available as an Odyssey pre-order reward, possibly alongside the pioneer suit skin, for PS CMDR's? I'd be cool with it, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this as an idea?

No quibbles from me either, although going by past debates/responses on this topic, it's not going to happen.
EDIT: Ps. I have access to CM4s on one of my accounts.. so speaking from a position of ownership, not want. Apart from the CM4 not having been a time-based exclusive (functional aspects of a game should, IMHO, never be permanently gated in this way*, cosmetics, sure), my other quibble with the exclusivity is that it's based on accounts, not humans. Which also highlights the brokenness of FDev's approach to the only way to have multiple Commanders is to buy multiple accounts which are completely separate entities. Of course on the one hand it leads to more sales, on the other it also makes policing the game much more difficult as you can only ban accounts, not people.
*which leads me to hope that the exclusive pre-order suits for Odyssey are purely cosmetic in nature.. if they also have functional differences compared to regular suits, this whole CM4 argument will find a new outlet soon.

Xbox had access to the Cobra Mk.IV at the time the game was launched on that platform, PS4 was never afforded that window of opportunity.
I'd rather have a ship that wasn't utter crap, but hey that's just me.
Has the largest cargo space of the small ships, and a good selection of other optional internals. It's objectively the best small multirole.
I have it, bought one and stuffed it in the far corner of my FC, it looks great as a dust collector. That's about it.

I would be fine if they lifted the exclusivity, though as you say, I find it very unlikely to ever happen.
I have access on my old account that sits out in Colonia that I seldom use. I would be fine with other people having access. It's not a very good ship anyway. If they were to give it either, a class 5 FSD or class 5 thrusters it would be very good for a few things. As it is, it's a slower cludgier Cobra3 that is out classed at virtually everything except cargo capacity in a small ship. There are no small pad only locations so, it competes as a cargo hauler against mediums where it comes up short.
The CobraIV is a ship you fly because, for whatever reason, you want to, not because it is particularly well suited to any task. It does make some people salty to see you out in open in one.
I just wish one or the other would happen. Either it gets put to rest by no longer being exclusive, or people would just stop bringing it up.

But I too can't help but wonder why it keeps getting brought up. The PS4 CIV availability is a shame, but it was even clarified recently by FDev (fwiw) that they won't be getting it, they got a Gold Sidewinder skin I think.Perhaps this problem could be solved by stopping NPCs flying the damned things, they are the only reminder most players have that it even exists apart from threads like this
