How would y'all feel about cobra Mk.IV for PS Odyssey pre-orders?

that the Cobra MkIV is forever forbidden to all but the hallowed first - The holy Order of the Preorder.

The Holy Order of the Preorder are splitters. The Order of Holy Preorders position of giving the cmKIV for ps4 odysee preorder is representing the tru spirit of preorders. You don't have to hate the PS4 to join it!

I don't care much about the CM4 (missed out on it myself) but one thing's for sure, an exclusive ship (any really) would've made me pre-order in a heartbeat - an average suit skin not so much.
I wouldn't like it. I don't have access to that ship, and if I did it would mean FD had broken their word to other players, which I don't want to see them do.

How about removing the Cobra 4 from the game and replacing it with small/medium with input from player community (not that's a HUGE can of worms! LOL)
I have several that I use as taxis occasionally but as most owners will tell you it's a resoundingly average ship with a lot of internals that doesn't excel at anything sadly

The former is unlikely, the latter is never going to happen until the former happens.
I have Cobra IV, I like it, and I find it a crime withholding it from so many players still after all those years.
It's about time that this sort of thread re-appeared, in order to flag to Frontier that it is still a subject that exorcises some people.
I am a PS commander who believes that more than FIVE years after the Cobra MkIV was removed for general availability it should be made available to all again (I am happy if Frontier want to tie it to purchase of the DLC).
In the past five years, you have to consider what percentage of the player base has churned?
I understand the original logic of making it an incentive to purchase of Horizons if that same logic was then applied to Beyond - but it wasn't. Even the Beyond developments are now complete and we are moving into Odyssey phase.
Every new commander is currently:
- prevented from owning the Cobra MkIV.
and therefore
- not seeing any Cobra MkIV ship skins in the store
If Frontier are worried about the 'uproar' from the playerbase that purchased the Horizon DLC originally, I wouldn't object them to being issued with the same Gold Sidewinder ship skin with Playstation Commanders received when they pre-ordered Frontier (and Horizons) prior to its launch on the Playstation.

I want to see Frontier go back on their word with this. It was a mistake that would be better rectified than not. If a friend promised to do something stupid, and keep doing it, I’d have more respect for them if they broke their promise and stopped doing the stupid thing. On the question of trust, I’d trust them less if they obstinately continued doing the stupid thing rather than break their promise and stop.
Far more people would benefit than lose if Frontier removed the exclusivity. Even people who own the ship and actually like it would benefit if they have alternate accounts, which I believe most do, particularly after the Epic Games giveaway.
The exclusivity has lasted almost five and a half years, and seemingly most owners admit to rarely if ever using the ship. If anyone still begrudges the loss of that exclusivity after all this time, well...
How about a panther clipper or something we haven't seen before how about a new srv type.....let's be more creative or am I really talking to a developer promoting low effort?
Surely giving horizons to all the base game players was a bigger middle finger to us than offering limited access to our exclusive so so ship to a select segment of the playerbase who have never had the opportunity to get it?

Elite slipped under my radar as I was playing with hot hatches and land rovers, rather than computer games when it was rolling out, I only stumbled upon elite in the start of the hype train for horizons. So my initial buy in to Elite was to preorder Elite Dangerous Horizons with Beta access, ergo I got a Cobra Mk.IV, which was later accompanied by the first wave of Black Friday paintjobs and later boosted with the gold Asp Explorer paint job, and I've no objection to that ship being more widely accessible.
Seriously, new SRV or panther clipper locked behind a preorder alleged paywall? Man, can you imagine the salt? I'm not a dev, I'm more of a stone in their shoe with my VR campaigning than a loyal white knight, but I'd rather that new assets like a panther clipper or a new SRV weren't locked down like the Cobra Mk.IV has been.
Maybes to make this work we'd need to award an exclusive paintjob to horizons preorder customers? Something like they did with the iridescent turquoise / blue horizons one when they "folded down" horizons to base game customers? For the record, I'd be cool without that if it were only PlayStation CMDRS being afforded access to the Cobra Mk.IV. But if they make it available to every Tom D*#? & Harry I wouldn't say no to some exclusive cosmetics, but not would I rage about being robbed?
