ANNOUNCEMENT Hello World! Issues with the new forum? Please post here.

Links hardly visible at bright background

1st of all, nice forum overhaul

However links are hardyl visible at the bright background - or did you see that "links" was a link?

I prefer the bright background, but links may use an underline or separate colour.

Update: Fixed now - thanks!

The black/orange on input fields and text boxes is rather annoying. Aside from that, really cool.
What he said. The orange in the input field needs to go, or at least be made so users can select the background color themselves, even no color if users wish to have none.

Tahoma font not working well for headings - combination of thin and thick strokes making it hard to read.Themes have way too much contrast - need an off-white background and to remove the numerous black bars. Can't change themes in Chrome (possibly my issue).

Yeah my problem is that its bloody horrible, the "new discussions" list is really badly laid out unlike the the old "new posts" button which worked just fine and brought up posts in a recognisable fashion, this nasty orange while i type this is also rank looking.

i dunno why people have to mess about with stuff that was OK looking and did the job just fine, this version looks like it was built by a schoolboy trying to use all the functions and colours he possibly can to get more marks.

New design fails hard IMO.

In fact just tried again to look at new discussions, it's REALLY bad, titles are not as clear and the first few sentences on the post are harder to read too.

It's bad enough to put me off using the forum, so i guess its doing it's job in that respect!

Needs a way to zoom out, the posts are all massive, and the thread titles in the thread view are quite hard to read.

Tried the Elite one, bit garish in places, the Minimal Black theme was much better.

Nice, I'm using the elite layout and love the background image of the docking port. For me the background where I'm trying this text is grey not orange, so not sure what some of the other posts are on about.

Just two things I like the forums they seem better spaced. But I wanted to tone down the theme and have the Elite Dangerous theme, but when I choose it down below, nothing happens. I refresh and it goes back to the Frontier theme. Also this box I am now typing in is a deep orange, its really hard on the eyes as you type in black on it. Anyway we can tone it down to just B&W?Thanks guysAb

Elite Theme not being applied

Love the new Elite theme but it doesnt work when i attempt to apply it to sub forums.

Element : styleid

Event code : onchange="switch_id(this, 'style')"

Fix please

This is interesting:

Also good news, pictures are now resized !

I don't like the mobile version on my phone...
I set it to use the desktop version which looks great and works fine, however the "show new posts" page always displays the mobile version regardless of my settings, while the thread pages work fine.

Forum options -> Mark this forum as read jumps to the top ED forum page and does not stay within e.g. the Beta Discussion Forum (what was the case till now).

Update: It's now working.

The username and password fields at the top right of the page :-The password field doesn't obscure the typed in password, it's shown in plain text to anyone looking over my shoulderClicking in the field doesn't clear the 'logon name' and 'password' text, leading to typosAnd after all that, it didn't log me in using them, but re-directed me to a full page logon which did work (and obscured the password)Edit : oh, also getting 'secure content only displayed' messages from IE every time I visit a page. Are some images not on the https server?Edit 2 : submitting a post ignores line breaks. for example, there are 2 empty lines after this line as I type itall this on IE 10.0.9200.17116 using the default theme I got on first logon

Few issues. The login at the top (password) doesn't work, and actually shows your password in the 'Password' field. The theme selector always defaults back to the Frontier theme, and ignores settings. The edit box for posts no longer respects line spaces, and crams everything together. Pictures in signatures no longer work. The smileys on the side of the post edit do not work. Can't seem to set bold or italics in posts, or use a WYSIWYG editor. This is on Chrome.
