Long Way Home, what to pack?

Make up your mind, alien... Complaining about Earthlings, who destroyed everything so that you can fly the ship...🤫

Anyway, as an Earthling, a destroyer of worlds, I have a tip for you: you will love HCS Voice pack ORION. He is constantly complaining about human race destroying stuff etc... You may have a likely minded companion for your trip... Make sure you turn on the chitchat and maximise the occurrence of him speaking... You will enjoy his constant rant... (y)

I recommend the OP purchase unnecessary modules that you think might want, but maybe not who knows. Engineer them and leave them in storage. Fuel tanks, limpet controllers. weapons, cargo racks, whatever. As long as you have them in storage you can go to a FC that has outfitting and have the modules transferred to that FC. You might never want the modules but its nice to know you can get them.

Assuming the OP has credits can have additional ship transferred to a FC that has a shipyard. It might take several days to a week to transfer. A DSSA Fleet Carrier is a good choice because you can rely on it hanging around.

To speed up the transfer of stuff across the galaxy you can transfer stuff to a halfway point on your route, and let the transfer begin while you continue the rest of your journey.

I have been taken a plans to build my ships by Bork and Vandaahl. They did not describe themselves.

Ships are made of material i found on the planets, various signals from space, guardian and thargoid technology components found lying arround. I also had help from, as they describe themself "aliens".

Some earthlings helps me too, significantly, that is true. Last two upgrades were from them, detailing where can i hide in Colonia while doing last upgrades to my life support.
I am thankfull for that and owe them, they will not be forgotten. I will help them if they come arround. Mark my words.

Im going to install your module now, are you an earthling?

Im not going for a trip to Conduit, im going to live and work there, i have to pay back for help i have been given.

Soon, im going to my new home.

This is what i packed, so far.
raw material - full, exept selenium (90missing)
encoded material ~ 50%
manufactured ~ 75%
Main ship https://s.orbis.zone/dswn
Ship for a trip, this one will be transferred https://s.orbis.zone/dswq
Spare parts, a rated thrusters, shield booster, 2x docking computer, refinery, 2x limpet controllers, 4x 16 cargo racks, wake scanner, point defence, engineered small pulse laser, 2x small srv's, 1x half engineered asp explorer, mining equipment, bigger powerplant for main ship.

And my hillarious plan is, to remote engineer Anaconda - we should call that paperconda - i need a bubblebus when odyssey hits, to take a spacesuit and scanning equipment, i guess.

I just hope i can get under 100million for a transfer ship (its price is 18.5M) via 46000ly. Noone seems to know.

But you described my plan like i want to do, if i forget something let me know. Thankyou.

I am, obviously, an Earthling... But Orion, who is residing on my ship, is not... And he is the one who is constantly complaining about us, humans... Vega too... Being an android, he is a bit sceptical about human race as well... You would like them both... (y)

I just arrived at the Fleet Carrier DSSA Enigma
Hypuejaa RT-Q e5-83
30,442 LY from Sol
Item Transfer Time: 84Hr 45min

Here are some equipment transfer costs for reference.
It appears the transfer cost at this distance is a flat rate of 1.8 of the cost of the item regardless of whether it is a module, ship, engineering, etc.

Thank you for the info, seems like i can make it. Even with my tiny hauler i engineered yesterday.. for no reason but okay.

Today, is that DAY.
After months of preparations, i am going home. According to our plan.
I don't know where exactly it will be, even if i can make it, but i will try.

Last glimpse on a place where i spend most of my time..
byeb.jpg

and now, i am gone..

I made it to Colonia's hideout in Carcosa, like mentioned here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/72-hour-in-colonia.542732/ , quite fast, i don't expect that.
I've been traveling ~ 1000ly to the left of the neutron highway, every single system i jumped in was undiscovered, exept those neutron stars. Strange.
I haul all of my weapons, because someone told me that there are earthlings waiting for explorers to obliterate them, maybe they saw my weapons but i did not get attacked by anyone. There were giant ammount of earthlings in Colonia system - lucky me noone wants to fight.

Did all my engineering what i was not able to do in a bubble due to combat requirement.
That dude, Etienne Dorn does not like girls.. or atleast me, at all, creepy.

I've spend alot of time in Jaques station and stuff, researching.. i need to speak to him. They did not allow me. It is not a station, it is a SHIP.
I'll try again, when Odyssey hits.

I still not figured out what's going on with EDDiscovery, but i guess it can do pretty cool stuff. Im not sure, if and what program is for tagging galaxy, so other people know what system to go for scanning, but as i promised - i left earth like worlds untagged. If you see my name on it, and has earthlike world, you can map it. Sadly, i do not write its names, i will do that along next part of my route.

As always, i really messed up now. I swapped all my synthesis material to fill the rest, it was tellurium i think and it is needed for AMFU. Now what? Should i go back 23000ly or find another somewhere in the Conduit. Worse part is, i can't trade it, or do anything about it. I guess i will search for it.

What is aswell worrying me, i completely lost the view of Andromeda and M33 i think, galaxy. I used them to help me navigate.
I hope i will not get lost on my way.
Carcosa.jpg

Now im leaving Robardin's Dock, this little asteroid hideout in Carcosa - colonia region.

I am, from this point, completely on my own. I even lost docking computer due to repair limpet controller, but that was planned by those who created my ship. I even don't know how and when to use them!

Next stop, is fleet carrier, i hope i do not get lost on my way home.
If i forget something, im screwed.

I've decided to go towards Aiphaisty AA-A H-3 nebula, if i don't have other galaxies in sight.

Someone ask me, for what i need heatsinks.. for this, but i did not risk it this time. I've been too far away..

Here im flying near that nebula, which served me for navigation well!

I found a giant system, but sadly did not map it.. it's no way near my home.

Spend night at DSSA Pride of Fel Tyr and blasting towards my goal.

I am very close now!

Against all odds, i have arrived to designated flight carrier..
arrival.jpg

That was quite a ride!

Now i am very far from home!
lyu.jpg

But that's your home.
My home is somewhere arround here.
And i am happy about it.

Thanks all of you who made it possible.
There is more to come, stay tuned.
Im just looking arround, what's here, its quite alot!

Where are you going to, space wanderer?

Congratulations!

Where are you going to, space wanderer?
I am going to stay here, and explore.
Because they say, this is not well explored area of galaxy.
Atleast untill i will not be forced to go back to bubble for space suit and other equipment which comes with Odyssey.

There are things, which are not even now on the maps in EDDiscovery.
Example is flight carrier im docked now.

But yeah, im planning quite a few trips, example is Quantum of sea nearby, or Beagle point via left side.

For now i ll wait for my ships to arrive to flight carrier.

But for the time being, i will go to undiscovered gap above carrier to see what's there. Atleast heatmap says so.

I found a place, where i can fix my fail from Colonia.
Screwed up materials, remember?
crystalline.jpg

Here we go, no need to return to bubble for them.

I did not find them by myself! There are more but i want to personaly check them. Travellers from distant worlds can refill here theyr supplies, even if not, atleast i will have one place where to find them.

Ruthenium - FLYUE FLYIAE SX-L C10-1 BCD 6 A
Yttrium - FLYUE FLYIAE SX-L C10-1 BCD 6 E
Antimony - FLYUE FLYIAE SX-L C10-1 BCD 6 F
Tellurium - FLYUE FLYIAE SX-L C10-1 BCD 7 D

Here are the promised prices for ships; it's simply enormous time of delivery, prices outrageous...
prices.jpg

Now, imagine moving your ships even further, this is only 46kly away.
I don't remember prices for components, but 3A colector limpet controller is like 5millions.

Is it even worth? I'd say yes, i can't see other way to spend credits out there.

What's more worrying is fact that on ED Astronometrics map it say carrier has an Armory, Shipyard, Outfitting, Redemption office. In reality carrier only does provide mining equipment (without cargo racks - sense?!), Redemption office is suspended, Ships can't be bought. Maybe it's outdated.
Dont rely on that info.

Wait, the hauler is cheaper to transfer than a 3A collector limpet controller?

yes, or something very similar (like 4A powerplant), i ll check that when i return to FC, i found alot of stuff, that just blow my mind there.. i will tell soon, i never think i will find something like that

Dont rely on that info.

You should assume that carriers won't be selling modules or ships. Occasionally a carrier might have those things. But what the map information is mentioning is the availability of the shipyard or outfitting service, not any particular items for sale. The service is usually offered on carriers for you to transfer your own ships or modules, not to buy them.

I looked into this for totally different reasons before buying my own carrier, ended up not fitting Shipyard or Outfitting because of the amount of space (cargo) that they require not only for the actual service they provide but the additional space for ships and equipment that you have for sale.

As far as I can tell you could also only replenish any equipment or ships that you sell by returning the carrier to somewhere with carrier administration services, also Outfitting modules have to be brought in packs, not as individual items which could also cause problems. Probably the reason that carrier has no cargo racks - they sold them all and cannot re-supply them.

In the end I decided that I had no real use for either, and also did not bother with the Secure Warehouse for similar reasons.

I spend most of my time out in the black mining and exploring, I leave all of my services available for any passing explorer.

This :)
If data is curated, you may get a hint when searching for that carrier on Inara, which also lists items and ships for sale...
Still if no one visited the carrier to update that data, all 5 Haulers already might be sold ;)
