With power comes responsibility.
A group of community representatives, quite often the 'most passionate people' could affect the direction of the whole game.
I've seen this happen in other communities, where the group view makes too much of an impact and changes the whole game even for those who couldn't speak up and object.
Bad idea.
It's nice with passionate people, but they tend to focus too much on their 'own wants & haves'.
Alpha & Beta tests provides enough of the 'testing grounds & feedback forum' we need to be able to speak up on specific implementations such as the 'scanner issues' and 'new galmap issues'. I personally believe this is the best way to deal with specifics.
As for direction of the game I still prefer that FDev is in control of the vision and the direction, a council would affect this in a negative way (for the silent group of voices).
