Let’s demand South American Animal pack!

For me and I know that many other people also think that South America comparing to it’s biodiversity is still the most underrepresented continent of all in the game.

I am not against Eurasian or N.A. packs but for me the most exciting zoo animals are the tropical ones 🌴 and South America still only have 7 of them in the game.

That is exactly why I would really like to get an South American animal pack. Is that would be enough? I’m sure it will not but it will make it much better.

Let’s demand S.A. Animal pack! 😜😂

And let me know what animas you would like to see in it.

Mine would be:
Capybara
Maned wolf
Sloth
Coati
Black howler
Manatee
Giant armadillo

honorable mentions:
Vicuña
Guanaco
Puma
Peccary
Ocelot
Spectacled bear
Lion tamarin
Rhea
Marsh deer
Pudu
Jabiru
Paca
Curassow
Ocellated turkey
Saimiri
Saki
Spider monkey
Darwin fox

There is still alot left to be desired in SA, would love to revisit this area with an animal pack. How can we NOT have a capybara??

As for the animals I would choose:
  • Capybara
  • Maned wolf
  • Howler monkey
  • American flamingo (obligatory reskin, as we should always count on some reskin animals in the packs, but I would love to have it)
  • Coati
  • Two-toed sloth
  • Ocelot
  • Emerald tree boa as exhibit animal

I highly doubt we'd get two packs focusing on South America (although it could actually help sales for the pre-existing one). But, I don't think that we're done with South America just yet.

If I had to make an animal pack for SA, it would have to be:
1. Capybara (like, duh)
2. Maned Wolf (like, duh. again)
3. Black Howler Monkey
4. Ocelot or South American Coati (I honestly want both)
5. Collared Peccary
6. Spectacled Bear
7. Greater Rhea

I would pick almost the same animals as you Nutrit, except I would change the armadillo for the tamandua, because I find them really cute !
  • Capybara
  • Maned wolf
  • Sloth
  • Coati
  • Black howler
  • Manatee
  • Tamandua

I’d certainly like some more South American species but I can’t see how anyone would consider it the most underrepresented continent when there are only 5 habitat animals from Oceania.... South America started with more species and has had 2 more than Oceania released in DLCs

A lot of people mostly cared about the kangaroo and koala as part of the important missing species. I think it has to do with an interest for the other species. (or better the lack of)
I think it's a regional thing.

Ugh... please no... I agree there is still plenty of great South American animals that can and should be added... but South America already has more DLC than any continent not called Asia... I'd like to to see other locations get a chance first...
Same here..
Atm, I think we got enough tropical/SA animals.
At least some other biomes/regions should get some attention before another DLC pops up with a revisiting theme or tropical animals.

In my opinion South America comparing to it’s biodiversity is still the most underrepresented continent. Oceania is amazing and I really love it but I would never compare it to South America for many reasons. That is just my opinion and a lot of people I have talked to. If you feel different feel free start your own thread 😃

I am not against Eurasian or N.A. packs but for me the most exciting zoo animals are the tropical ones. The only not covered continents in dlc are NA EU and Africa and we will probably get those eventually.

On the other hand SA had nearly just the same amount of animals as NA in Arctic and aquatic pack. So I don’t see your reasoning here 🙂

NA and EU have animals from the Arctic pack and the aquatic pack.

I really would like to See an animals pack for South America. There are still a lot of nice species missing in the game.
1. Sloth
2. Ozelot
3. Cabypara
4. Spectacled Bear
5. Maned Wolf
6. Giant Armadillo
7. Howler Monkey
8. Exhibit

I think we'll likely get another 3-4 SA animals in other types of pack - biomes or some other theme, not including birds. There's a good half dozen birds I'd like to see from SA. But for now, if I did an 8 pack it would be these 7 habitat animals - for the most part I come up blank on exhibits as at this point I'm mostly fine with anything

1. Capybara - absolutely a must. Huge demand a iconic SA animal. I think we'll get in some other way, but if not, just for this alone they need to revisit the continent.
2. Sloth - though I think this could work as an exhibit animal, if it were an animal pack I'd like to see it has a habitat animal. Three toed or two toed either is fine.
3. Maned Wolf - I do love my canids and they look so different from current ones in game
4. Ocelot - not as much a priority as other missing felines, I'd absolutely like to see it if SA has another focused pack.

These are my four priorities, but to round out the other three spots I'd go with:

5. Howler Monkey
6. Andean Bear
7. Coatimundi

So, I love S. America. In fact the zoo opened up the South American Pantanal section in October (and it's the bomb). We're already getting a Galapagos section being built to release in fall 2022. A lot of my choices are based off of what I've seen and what I personally want, and I tried to get a good range of biomes represented:

1. Greater Rhea - I like these animals and they'd be perfect for S. American savannah exhibits, mixed with Anteaters and Tapirs
2. Galapagos Penguins - so, I know that with the leak we may be getting a relative soon, but I'm adding these because these are arriving next year at the zoo and it'll be the 1st time (in my life, at least) that the zoo will have penguins
3. Maned Wolf - I chose these because they are interesting animals, not because "they're in high demand". I've only seen them twice at the zoo, but both times they were such weird animals. I believe these will be great to represent a S. American savannah
4. Spider Monkey (any) - any Spider Monkey will be good, to maybe build a monkey house. Very active climbers
5. South American Coati - I personally prefer the White-Nosed, but this'll be a good substitute and I believe the 1st representative of the Racoons
6. Spectacled Bear - honestly to me, I can never have enough bears, and this one is no exception
7. Scarlet Ibis - maybe a bit controversial, since I've only seen them in aviaries, but they are ground/wading birds, much like Flamingos, so i don't think it's that bug of a deal
8. I'm torn between the following:
  • Strawberry Poison Dart Frog - my favorite of the poison frogs
  • Yarará - more commonly known as the Jararaca

I have mixed feelings on this.

On the one hand, I want more South American animals, especially:
  • Capybara: we don't have any rodent yet and I think these animals would complement very well the current roster.
  • Black howler monkey: a second monkey would be nice, and the colour variation male/female is a plus
  • Sloth: maybe it would work best as a new kind of exhibit since they move so little and having them as a full habitat animal would need a lot of work on the climbing animations.
  • Blue dart poisson frog: blue is my favourite colour and how many blue animals do we currently have? huh? We don't even have the "blue" wildebeest, come on!

Other nice additions:
-Spectacled bear: as a bear lover, I wouln't mind if the spectacled bear joins the family.
-Armadillo

I wouldn't mind coatis and ocelots, but they are not a priority for me. I wouldn't even place them on my top 40 animals.

Please don't hate me, but I don't feel anything special about maned wolves. I have nothing against them, but I just don't see what makes them so popular. I guess I'm the black sheep in this family 😂

On the other hand, as much as I like these animals, if they come all together in a new pack, I personally would have the same problem that I have with the South East Asia pack. Although they are cool animals and quite common in zoos, I don't feel a special connection or bonding to them and such a pack doesn't make me very excited. I prefer when Frontier mixes animals from different biomas in the same pack and this potential new South American pack vol 2 would be again too tropical focused.

So basically I want one South American animal here and there to better represent the huge biodiversity of the continent. The aquatic pack added three more animals to the South American roster and it was great. I hope that's the way they will increase the animals from this region, while not neglecting other areas that are also underrepresented.

Finally, if we ever get an Aviary Pack, I'm sure that South America would take a very promiment place in such a pack (but again please, don't forget about the other continents).

For me them:
1. Maned wolf
2. Mara
3. Tamandua
4. Capybara
5. Black caiman
6. Humbold penguin
7. Atele
8. Vicuna
8. Alpaca
9. Guanaco
10. Emerald Boa
10. Amazonian Boa
11. Blue anole
12. spearhead
13. Ocelot

Seeing that have already had South America might have other DLC like this

1. Rodents
Capybara
Mara
2. Arboreal animals
Tamandua
Emerald boa
Amazon boa
3. Aquatic pack 2
Black caiman
Capybara
4. Primates or monkeys
Atele
5. Snake pack
Emerald boa
Amazon boa
spearhead
6. Reptile pack
Black caiman
Blue anole
7. Wild cat
8. Simply South America 2

I wouldn't mind at all. All animals are welcome and I would use it (I have used all the animals in the game, that teaches me a lot). It's just that for some mysterious reason I don't have any special interest in that animal.

I completely understand this. Just like we all have some animals we really want in the game, that aren't overall popular, I'm sure we also all have animals that are not priorities for us that are generally popular. That doesn't mean we'd be upset if they were included, just not one we're particularly clamoring for.
