COMPLETED CG Fight for the Federation against Nova Imperium (Combat)

Just in case anyone is confused about why there's so much uproar over this CG even among Fed loyalists (emphasis mine):

ACT is currently working to verify claims that the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid aided the NMLA on Imperator Duval’s instructions.

I meant Proxy as in 'not officially declared War' by either SP, not as in 'not a real' war or a 'Cold War' type. It will surely spread though with these acts of aggression and invasion from both sides in the name of liberation or freedom or cracking down on 'the terrorists' in someone elses sphere of influence / space / system into a full on War between SP unless someone stops it...and I know Mahon aint up to the job

i was more thinking that for a classical proxy war both fighting sides are instigated or fighting on behalf of external powers. but Nova Republic are simply defending themself against an external power interfering in their system, which is neither part of the federation nor a ("normally") locally present federal faction. Whether someone in the federal goverment is backing League of Mandu in this crime by intersystem law, but is up for discussion/plausible deniability - but Nova Republic is simply fighting for their right to settle their affairs without intervention, not as a proxy imho.

post like this give me hope, that the majority of federals think exactly like that - and the federation as a superpower somewhat responsible for its member the League of Mandu might take the side of intersystem law and ongoing investigation in paresa.

imho the only side to fight for a true federal in this war is Nova Imperium , weird as it might sound.

to hold up the standard the federation set in LTT 1935, or has shown with Jupiter Division that they care about the rule of law (instead of beheading people on the senate floor...).

hmm, I would say its a call to arms from the League of Mandu who seem to be going it alone without fed backing..
but it is the easier of the 2 to get into top 10%

I noticed. I came in with a whole day's delay, and found myself still legitimately competing for Top 10 Commanders! :O

I guess the crowd is not as highly motivated when there aren't any decals or prototype modules in the works.

Suffice it to say, this illustrates how silly the implementations of the military systems are, plus it puts a unique twist to the term, "Don't trust anyone."

I dunno, I'm finding myself confused because Fed-supporting commanders seem genuinely surprised about this course of action.

Personally, it fits right into the MO of the Federation, and anyone taken by surprise with this action should inspect the reasons they support the Federation a bit more closely, they might find the Federation actually don't stand for them as much as they'd like to believe.

Misplaced loyalties ahoy.

Edit: some of those loyalties may have been better placed in a Halsey-era Federation.

wouldn't it be boring, if any CG would suceed (Tier 1 is success)?
I think there should be CGs, which fail (not getting to Tier 1).
I love that this CG is a battle to succeed at all - and if the fed CriminalGoal fails, the community would have shown what they think of not waiting for proof of a also federal funded institution like ACT.

i think it will be very interesting, if the "federal" league of Mandu can't get to tier 1, so i hope fdev does not play calvinball on this one.

well, i'm not sure why anyone would fight for league of mandu, if not reaping what NMLA was sowing, or something - but if it is about CR, simply switch over to the paresa-defending nova imperium CG, as it looks as if might get to tier 1?

Not sure both could fail anyway as such, wouldnt the one with the highest contributions be declared the winner but just no bonus payouts? Its not like Tier 1 means anything as in theres nothing riding on it - like a new station or Megaship escaping or unique modules or something actually happening at Tier 1.

Not knocking it just saying nothing actually happens at Tier 1 apart from bonuses.

That's best-case. But hey, at least it'll be the EASIEST "Top 10 Commanders" for me BY FAR! I needed that, after some of the hair-pulling insanity I had to witness during my time in service of the Federation.

If it turns out the T1 reward for NI is awesomely high, then the Federation will got a boost in the last two days to reach T1, too (because of the players participating in all two CGs to collect the credits). It will not change the results however.

If you consider the impact of the "leader of Nova Imperium has been abducted, who has ties to the real Emperor" a bit, suddenly supporting the League makes a lot of sense.

In which case the Feds would never have had a basis for preventing the Empire coming after NMLA in one of their systems. Feds were the first to claim "moral highground" here, and look where it got them; wholesale massacre of their citizens.
