Found a pretty Earth-Like place that I needed to go to for for a mission (Tenjin 3). View was incredible.
Decided to land at the nearby settlement for the mission I had to complete. Turns out the people there weren't very friendly and started pew-pewing me. So, I picked them off one by one and killed them all...
Decided to snap one last picture of the planet. Gets me excited for the future of Elite. Closest thing to taking off from an Earth-Like I've seen so far. Hats off to you Frontier.

One planet - different aspects, from night to dawn to morning
Blackest night - the spotlight from the Star of the East makes it even blacker. As it should do.
Heading towards dawn - it is still pretty dark down there...
Turn the lights off and there is a beautiful pre-dawn glow. Time to head into the light...

Is there someone that can go to Sol and see how it is ? They said they updated Sol according to real world data in the huge patch note just before the release.
Any particular planet? I'm back in the bubble after a long time exploring, so can do a few screenshots

I found the real quote from the patch note: "Sol planets updated to more accurately reflect real-world data"
Yeah. Please don't remove. I'll never turn that off.It's called "ULTRAFORCAPTURE" in terrain quality. Planets look gorgeous though it's a bit demanding on your hardware. I don't know if it's an internal option that was not disabled for release, but it's so, ED, please don't remove it
Mercury, from Air and Ground (apoligies for ship presence):
arrggh - having image size problems, will post more when resolved
Moon -looks a bit washed out, and if you drop in too close, the images are very blurred.
Europa - slight delay, as realised ~I~ was wanted, and was blown up taking the mages
