What other games are we all playing?

That's a helpful site.
Turned down damage until such time my group aren't so weak.
Thanks.

Another thing, don't multiclass unless you really know what you are doing, especially if playing a magic user. Most classes are good if kept pure. Multiclassing can open up lots of crazy and powerful builds but if you don't know what you are doing then you'll just make your character weaker. Magic users especially need to be pure as the strength of their spells depend on it and their ability to overcome enemy resistances.

Assuming you will use the default companions and not hiring mercenaries you get then this advice also applies to them with perhaps one exception. Octavia is designed to be an Arcane Trickster, so you might want to look at checking the requirements for that class (its a prestige class so it needs to be unlocked with the right skills/feats). However, ATs are a bit tricky to use, so maybe forget that and focus her levels on either Rogue or Wizard.

If you mess up your builds or just want to try something different, there is a guy called Ninetails in Oleg's trading post (in chapter 1) and he moves to your capital's tavern in chapter 2. He can respec any character. 3 times for free then for a cost. For your main character and mercs this can be a complete remake (change everything, class/race/stats/etc). For the default companions from the point you get them. So, no making Octavia into a Bard from level 1.

However, there is a mod that allows you to do full respecs of any character for free, so if you don't like Octavia being a Wizard/Rogue, you can make her into a Druid or Paladin or whatever.

Last bit of advice (which i don't always follow) always have a Cleric or Druid in your party. Spells like Delay Poison and Resist Energy as super useful at various points in the game. In Chapter 1 there are spiders and centipides with poison that can be really annoying and you'll end up guzzling lots of restoration potions unless you are protected from it. Resist Energy (and similar spells) will provide lots of protection from things that use elemental attacks. There is one location where i recently got my bottom kicked because i had no protection from lightning.

Oh, and one tip relating to your kingdom. The game tells you to always try and be in your captial (or at least in your kingdom) at the start of the month as that is when many events trigger. However, and this one drove me crazy, so i'll give it to you regardless of spoiler, as i ended up having to reload from an earlier save. There is an event relating to an ancient curse. You'll get told at some point during Troll Troubles (probably, depending on how you are progressing) that you have 1 month before a curse becomes active and that when it does you should visit Bald Hilltop. Don't think you can wander off until that month is over. 2 weeks before it, be at your capital or in your kingdom. Skip days if necessary. Because there is an event card that happens that you must assign to someone to on the day it appears. If you don't, your kingdom will be overrun with spiders and every day you don't deal with it you get a negative impact on your kingdom.

First time i got this event i was actually at my capital. But i had set my character to perform an expansion (2 weeks are skipped while this is happening) and i got multiple notifications my kingdom was being overrun. On another save i was a day or two away from my kingdom and again, had to reload from an earlier point and hotfoot it back to make sure i could deal with it.

Most of the time its not a problem as long as you remember to be in your kingdom or near your capital at the start of the month. But that one is a surprise and just downright nasty.

Hey @Mole HD

Snowrunner has been simmering on Steam Early Access for a while now and got its official release yesterday. Here's the trailer released last year

music is 100% inappropriate for the trailer IMO. Totally inconsistent with the atmospheric feels of the scenic backdrop

Anyhow, TC9700Gaming did an interesting 40 min of gameplay. Has first and 3rd POV and the gameplay seems very engaging. The driving in particular is ultra realistic with how the vehicles handle (especially auto/manual suspension getting stuck in mud, snow, 4WD, tire/wheel/engine wear and repair, WORKING rear view/side view mirrors o_O detailed ultra realistic interiors, and a world environment is ultra realistic in RDR2 vista stye. So I'm totally tempted to get it.

Also seems the dev has released 2 season passes to date for the game. Which offer a lot of game play content

And so quite naturally -- because this will cost real life money -- I was posting this here in hopes you would check it out and get it first.:p Then let me know how it goes :D

And if any of you ETS aficionados have played this game while it was in EA on Steam, please provide your expert feedback/opinions on this v. the driving expereince in ETS. Seems like ETS was more designed to be a chill driving sim where you can build your financial trucking empire at leisure. Whereas this dirivng sim is more the action/suspense packed version of ETS on steroiods. SnowRunner also seems to be more of a scenario driven game v. ETS as well.

Awesome, I'll grab that before it vanishes (y)

Just released with €57 of DLC?!

That's coz you're adding in the DLC since its early access release some 2 yrs ago. The dev has released 4 season passes since then :)

All of the DLC seem pretty decent (based on watching Youtubers play and what content they seem to offer). So this game does have high replay potential. Was wondering if its addicting as ETS game play. Since it appears to be more action oriented and bit heavier on the RP side

+1 for Subnautica: Below Zero.

So far, I don't think it's better than the first Subnuatica, but that's a crazy high bar to reach and it's still pretty great.
I couldn't help myself. Couldn't resist watching the ending. It was truly o_Oo_O and well worth the full price tag (if ppl didn't buy it while in EA on Steam). Even crazier, an ultimate fan boi on Steam discussion forum said the end game environment was what had been originally planned for Subnautica. But the devs decided to make canon the lore environment that Subnautica was released with instead. It was also very appropriate for the PC's attitude and character development througout the course of the game. Kudos to the new story writer and dev team for pulling off a really solid, and intense cliff hanger ending:

Also this ending -- should the dev opt to expand upon the lore/world building in the next iteration of the franchise -- will open big horizons down the road. Because the franchise will have access to the Subnautica universe and the end game environment in the future. :)

I'll sneak this in amongst these excellent posts ... got back into WoWs this week. Its been a couple of years but a lot has been added and enhanced. It helps they remember my account so I don't have to start from scratch however, I'm going to play low tiers for a while. Seems somebody here calls it world of grind. After a couple thousand battles I've only reached tier 8 (two cruisers) so I have to agree; it is grindy. I'm glad I picked it over the other old games I was looking at resurrecting (WT, WoT or Armored Warfare). WoWs is a beautiful game imho and beats those others I was considering in the fun catagory. GL HF

I've been playing a ton of X3:AP.... thinking about picking up evochron legacy - hearing good things about that.

Had been playing quite a bit of Stellaris... but now I have to wait for Nemesis bugs to be smashed and for all the modders to update their mods. Dabble in NMS here and there.

Will probably play Subnautic Below Zero with my kids soon

Downloaded Starcraft 2 a couple of days back. It's free so why not.

I have no idea what I am doing. I am terrible at RTS games. I hate on-line play.

With that in mind I'm looking forward to being able to play ranked games just for the stupidity.

I don't have much to add here but I'm finding the game excellent, really enjoying the story elements being given a more prominent part in Below Zero. They are very well voice acted too which is something the triple A developers often gloss over with sub par acting.

I'll happily support more of this project as time goes on.

It's a shot in the dark for me and all. I only heard of it a few weeks ago. It will either be an instant hit for me or something I play for 15 hours get bored and drop it. Have a feeling it wont be anywhere in between.

I just started playing the original Rebel Galaxy. It's more fun than I was expecting, though it's obviously no Elite or Space Engineers. It now has me wondering if I might actually enjoy X3 / X4 after all. Do these games allow for a more laid back "I'm just a pilot exploring, mining, running missions, and solving mysteries" gameplay? In other words, how similar can X3 / X4 be to Rebel Galaxy?

ps - I suspect one of the reasons I'm enjoying RG is because it's silly easy to play. Meanwhile it feels like I need a Ph.D to play X3 / X4, but perhaps that's because there are so many options.

As I've said to you more than once I'm sure, I can't imagine why, if you like the concept of E: D and Space Engineers, you wouldn't love X4. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, you can absolutely play it very laid back and spend your time mining, running missions, exploring & solving mysteries. It appears complex because it can be, depending on how deep you want to take it. The UI is probably the biggest thing to get your head around, but it's not that complex once you get it.

As I've said to you more than once [...]

Yeah, but you kinda say it like a Jehovah Witness pounding on my door... Though as a Space Engineers fanatic myself, I guess I understand your need to make more converts.

Does X3 & X4 have any story-driven missions like RG? While RG's story is kinda cheesy, I still enjoy narrative-driven gameplay.

Sorry. :(

I only harp on about it because a) it's a great game and b) I really honestly think you would like it, and it makes me somewhat sad that you don't own it. Feel free to ignore me if you wish.

Yes, there is a story / narrative in X4. Optional, obviously, but it's there.
