Yong Yeas take on Elite Dangerous Odyssey (Not Good)

I'm immensly enjoying the reactions here actually. I have no idea what alternate timeline I arrived at. I'm not the youngest, and I know who he is. Guess that makes me the problem then?

I remember he did one on star citizen years ago. And recently with cyberpunk. My youtube algorithm hasn't suggested his channel for anything else.

But really, all this tells me that it became popular enough to whine about Odyssey for clickbaiters to cover it, hoping for more viewers on their channels and thus making more money. That's really all that news has become in the social media age. If people would focus more on practical solutions, their opinoins would actually be worthwhile. The circle of whining and appeasing tires me. All the political landscape is made out of it. It's all about the feelgood and nothing about the matter at hand.

Who are all these people, and why do people bother to watch? Do they really need someone else to tell them what to think, or need someone else to agree with their own opinion?

This is not a dig at you - just People who watch 'Influenzas' in general, and perpetually quote them as if they are some Oracle or other.

Edit: Plus they are bound to say something 'controversial', as that sells / gets hits, and therefore money for them.
As the saying goes, you are either uninformed or misinformed.

Those guys are entertainers.

Personally I find the drama created when corporate sociopathic shenanigans collide with raving fanbois really entertaining. 🍿

Since the youtuber has spoken, I will to. I had a lovely time playing Odyssey last night, it played well, I did not, got killed twice by those pesky on foot NPCs. Going to have to get gud.

Yeah, he is not out of my recommendations, too, but he did some fairly good ones on the whole Anthem mess and FO76. But some of his stuff is questionable at times :D

Oh yeah that's right, anthem. I.. was disappointed? Not sure if thats the right word.. when i looked at the arx store for space legs. First it was flashbacks to anthem... and then my gut sank that frontier actually did design space legs for younger adolescents.

Well, there'd be one opinion on everything, but that would be boring... Or some kind of mass hypnosis/programming. lol

A problem has been detected and 'thelion' has been shutdown to prevent damage to your program.

If this is the first time you have seen this error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

1. Have existential crisis
2. Realise you have wasted your run time so far
3. Realise that guy in the 60's who said we are all living in a simulation was right
4. DON'T PANIC

Oh the guns? I couldn't decide if it was Anthem or Destiny 2. As for Anthem it self, I watched the dumpster fire with popcorn in hand. It was already a strike that it was Origin only, then I saw the reviews.

Incidentally, Biomutant pulled an EDO yesterday. Started from positive reviews, half an hour later was already Mostly Negative 😂

Neither - just a person who can form their own opinion without somebody telling me what it should be, or what is popular to say.

They are entertaining in the same way that people used to consider public hangings as entertainment.

Although - yes, it can be quite amusing seeing the 2 extremes, but only for about 10 mins - it then just comes across as rather sad

Well more the suits. These transformers like chaotic armor types. For people who want to pretend they're robots. Biomutant is funny because its the only release game retailers have had to go on for months. It never even tried to indicate it was going to be good. Poor retailers.

It's not necessarily about needing someone to tell them what to think. Only very charasmatic people can influence opinions in the way you're suggesting, and YongYea is not what I would call charasmatic. For me, I like to hear what other people's opinions are. It makes you think. It informs you on the way others feel about something. And it helps you to prepare a retort if you disagree.

Even when I vehemently disagree with someone on a more controversial subject, even politics, I will often listen to their point-of-view. If I cover my ears and scream, or only hear what I want to hear, I miss the opportunity to find out I may be wrong about something.

As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. This is not a personal dig at anyone who doesn't want to watch influencers btw. I'm just trying to explain why I watch some of them. There are those YouTubers I avoid like the plague as well, such as The Quartering, who does nothing but push fear/hate propaganda about extremist boogeymen. YongYea is as tame as a kitten compared to the filth at the bottom of the barrel.
