Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Update 2 | Horizons Update

Happy to see so many fixes going into effect... but unfortunately, the key issue I'm having has seen no progress from what I can tell. On a 980Ti (above recommended specs) I'm still getting less than 25 fps in stations on medium settings.

Great stuff, but please work on the frames! I love the update... when I'm running it on potato graphics.
I was getting 14fps with my 770gtx :D might be time to upgrade anyway

Hopefully I will now - once again - be able to cut about the galaxy looking like a motorcycle assassin from Line of Duty as opposed to my current low-rent and slightly tragic Peter-Weller-as-Robocop mood...
Well, if anyone's wondering. Line of Duty mode is still thoroughly banjaxed. You can set the opaque helmet in the flight suit cosmetics (within loadout screen) by drilling down through the helmet selection, but this ONLY affects the flight suit model - so the Odysee suits still have a clear faceplate. Baffled why this option had to be removed from the holo-me in the first place, given (to my logic at least) it should be a global toggle for ALL suits. sigh guess I'm stuck looking like a bad 80s movie animatronic for now!

Oh, and framerates are still shocking on the starport concourse (Irkutsk) but not unplayable - and no weird disappearing station bugs for me at least, fingers crossed there's improvement for the planetary ports since landing on a high G world with 10-15 fps and sluggish thrusters isn't ideal :D

I dont see any difference in fps optimization, even if you made updates to culling... Anyone else see little or no difference ? I see slight improvment on stations like from 30 fps - 40 fps but odyssey settlment with lots of npc movement i get 25 fps
I feel like performance has improved inside stations, albeit slightly; but then again I can't be sure it's not the placebo effect. As for surface conflict zones, zero improvement. Still getting 30-45 FPS.

Still dynamic contrast makes dark skybox.

That list looks really nice but i am still not seeing the DSS bug in VR fixed...
I really hope that it will be fixed soon as currently this breaks the exploration and planet scanning when playing with VR.

You must be kidding? FPS just got worse! Horizons 86 FPS -> OD upd1 34 FPS -> OD upd2 18 FPS. Ultra settings (i7 7700k, 16gb, M2 SSD, GTX 970, 1080p)

You're trying to run ultra on a 7700k and a 970 mate. I run medium on a 9900k / 2070 and suffer similar frames. That is a VERY old GPU though, although it was more than sufficient for Horizons. But yeah, that won't cut the mustard sadly for Odyssey. I never ran Horizons on Ultra and I had the exact same CPU/GPU as you back in the day.

OK. Running an i7 3770, 16GB and a GeForce 1050. I'm getting ;-
  1. In Space : 60+
  2. On planets SRV :40+,
  3. On planets on Foot 27-33,
  4. In stations in ship 45+,
  5. In Stations on foot 25-30.
That's up about 5 fps since patch 1.1, got to test a planetary mission or two but looking good.

Yes, the skybox looks nice in a WD system:

But: Bookmarked station selected from GalMap took me to the system, station had to be selected manually - I'll check with my FC later.

I have AMD Ryzen 3 3100, 16GB with RX 570 8gb and I have the same values fps as you do.
