Odyssey vs. Fortnite

Honest question.
These are the only 2 games I've played for the last few years. Fortnite has updates and it seems like there are very few problems.
To the programmers/people in the know, what's the difference? Doe's ED just have a ton more moving parts?

Frontier also develops other games. Something about dinosaurs. An amusement park game for the disabled. And a zoo game for folks who can't deal with animals irl.

But yeah, they're two very different games. I can't imagine how you can compare the two.

I guess I'm talking about all the issues ED has when they roll out something new, Whereas Fortnite doesn't seem to have them.

I'm looking for technical reasons behind ED issues compared to Fortnite's, in regards to a lack of problems when a new drop/season rolls out. Why are they so different from a coding/platform/environment issue. Sorry about my ignorance.

Well, again, two very different games. The mechanics behind having a 1:1 scale of a galaxy plus the complex ship mechanics and further content stacked over it can breed issues. You can make the argument that Elite's engine is just poop and things are easily broken because of said engine, but overall, it is a much more complex game than Fortnite.

It's a battle royale. How much can they really be adding besides skins, weapon balances etc..?
