Summary COMPLETE
System: Luyten's Star
Station: Ashby City (Ocellus Starport, large pads available, 299 Ls from main star, 12.39 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver CMM Composites, Muon Imagers and Synthetic Reagents
Time limit: 24th June 3307 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
Sirius Corporation has requested commodities to make a fully engineered detailed surface scanner commercially available.
The ship module was produced in limited numbers during a terraforming programme campaign by Sirius Atmospherics in late 3306. It was awarded to pilots who provided data on worlds with ammonia-based atmospheres for its terraforming programme.
Sinclair Faraldo, marketing director for Sirius Corporation, provided details:
Following a feasibility study, we have determined that this module can be economically mass produced for general sale. Our fully engineered detailed surface scanner has twice the probe coverage, allowing planets and moons to be mapped more efficiently.
In order to begin production, we require large quantities of CMM Composites, Muon Imagers and Synthetic Reagents. We will generously reward pilots who can deliver these to Ashby City in the Luyten’s Star system.
If the initiative is successful, Sirius Corporation will make the module available for purchase at all human technology brokers by the 25th of June 3307.
Each tier reached will further reduce the resources required for acquiring the module in the first two weeks of availability.
  • Niobium base requirements 24, reduced by three for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Mechanical Components base requirements 28, reduced by four for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Germanium base requirements 22, reduced by three for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Mechanical scrap base requirements 26, reduced by four for each tier above Tier 1.
If the initiative is successful, Sirius Corporation will gift the module to the top 75% of contributing pilots. The module will be placed in storage at the Ashby City starport in the Luyten’s Star system by the 25th of June 3307.
To earn rewards, you must sign up as an active participant before delivering CMM Composites, Muon Imagers and Synthetic Reagents to Ashby City station in the Luyten’s Star system.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Ashby City is at planet 1
  • Station services: Commodities Market, Shipyard, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space
  • Prices at Ashby City:
    • CMM Composites 23,952 Cr/T
    • Muon Imagers: 25,244 Cr/T
    • Synthetic Reagents: 26,604 Cr/T

Prices for sales
26,604 Cr Synthetic Reagents
25,244 Cr Muon Imager
23,952 Cr CMM Composite..

700+ tons means ~13-14 million per run...
ship required, so access mission boards in ship not on foot...

Just to clear up, is that the same double ranged DSS as the reward was for the Betancourt Base exploration CG last December?

From the CG text:

"The ship module was produced in limited numbers during a terraforming programme campaign by Sirius Atmospherics in late 3306. It was awarded to pilots who provided data on worlds with ammonia-based atmospheres for its terraforming programme."

So, yes.

It's not double-ranged, though. It gives you 40% scan radius, whereas a regular G5 DSS gives you 30%. But make no mistake: that extra 10% is a huge difference when mapping large planets.

So how does this work. If I sign up for the goal, and don't get into the top 75% what do I get?

All the earnings from delivering (selling) the commodities to the CG station and the minimum tier cash rewards, but no module.

Getting into the top 75% is not that hard, though. If you don't have a big hauler yet, a Python with shields can carry 284 tons, 292 without shields.

Suggested non-engineered build here.

But do you get the chance to buy/build one later?

Anyway, I've already got a Python, Type-9 and an Anaconda.

Yeah, it will become available from a Human Tech Broker at the end of the campaign. This CG is to see how cheap is it to get in the 2 week sale at the end of the CG, Top 75% of contributors get a free copy.
