State of the Game

you need to get mobile - that is why this has been invented a long time ago

(un) luckily I have some other "addiction" that really ruins my love for different "substances altering the state of mind".

I like to drive my car(s) everyday, so all I can enjoy is a drink or two in the evening,
everything else is too risky because Germans don't take it lightly when you get pulled over for (random) blood test and it proves you breaking any "don't xxx and drive" law.

I think that depends what's being questioned (and on what basis). Proper scientific debate, so challenge and response, is part of how science moves forward. As most scientists accept, every theory they have currently is just the bast one currently available. It is not necessarily correct. For example Newtonian physics got mankind to and from the moon. It's not right, but it was right enough for the job.

I still think fondly of the flat-earther who said (I think on Radio 4's Today programme) <broadly> '...we have supporters all round the globe...'

Sorry. I've forgotten the point... here's a cat:
Yes, all of that, and I am happy that you have mentioned Newtonian physics example,
because my ONLY point from the beginning was,
that using current state of scientific knowledge to draw DEFINITIVE conclusions about how The Universe works on ANY scale (in every dimension of spacetime(s)) ,
is "a bit of overstretching" IMO.

CBT does have benefits. It just doesn't cure ME/CFS. \o/

ps let us know how you get on... assuming you survive...
problem is, there is no "cure" for CFS but the interplay of a person's perception of their disability and their actual behaviour are interlinked, and there are certainly robust studies demonstrating an improvement in perceptual wellbeing associated with CFS for both CBT and mindfulness approaches...

Anyways, those Faberge spoons are awesome!
