State of the Game

Reminds me of when the urban hippies over here enter our Northwestern wildernesses to go "commune with the bears."

Oh yeah.

Yeah hawaiian volcanism is very tame, but it's still volcanism. Sometimes nature like to reminds us she still rule.
Yeah, I absolutely expect following course of actions:

- humanity will somehow manage to stop it's negative impact on environment, maybe even reverse some of mess/warming it has caused. With a lot of effort and sacrificing our convenient way of living to achieve this.

- just when we will be about to breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate our success, combo of some random catastrophic events will happen. Sun will go berserk, volcanos will start erupting one after another, some major asteroids will hit earth, etc.

Actually it's the only scenario I can think of that triggers "plausible" label in my head.

Society will then split, with the tender and juicy Eloi and me, under the ground living in my underground palace.

My treat to myself when I needed to be in work early was (if and only if I was early enough) to get a toasted bacon and brie sandwich and a mug of breakfast tea from the local sandwich shop - one of the many family (often Italian) run ones that there used to be in the City of London. And oh my. Oh my my my!!! So very goood... I'm salivating even now...
When I used to work just over London Bridge, the daily journey from the station to north side of the river always included a bacon bap with HP sauce being demolished while crossing the Thames... nom nom nom!!
