State of the Game

i found it works very nicely .... if you want added performance without changing quality ... 0.85 supersampling seems to be a good compromise.

lower and you will start to notice you are at a lower quality setting. but even 0.85 can give noticeable improvements in places where you were your <1% frames were dipping below acceptable

at 0.5 i was able to canyon run at full speed pegging my 90fps limiter the entire time. it's like seeing what elite would look like if you could still play it in 20 years when graphics cards catch up to the crappy graphics pipeline.

they did screw up gamma again though with patch 5. or at the very least, they've screwed up the gamma setting page so that it misleads people into thinking their gamma setting is bad.

You can't screw what is already screwed. You just change where the bugs are.

well, in the sense that it was behaving as expected before patch 5 (which was similar to what horizons had) .. and then it was back to behaving like it was before patch 3 (broken)

If you think you have it hard playing EDO,
because it has some gamma/whatever issues,
consider the fact that I just had an 8 km walk with my family,
incl. 3 km over a beach along the coast.

Can I consider this a physical abuse?
Maybe I could sue my son because of this,
when he will be older and rich enough to pay me some compensation?

I see FDev are still building Updates using a random branch off some developer's machine, rather than using the master from a version control system.

they aren't using git .... i think it was slipped that they use cvs or one of those ones nobody uses like mercurial or whatever.

it's obviously garbage cuz they clobber eachother's work every single update.

And this is how my home city welcomed me:

I won`t draw any conclusion referring to symbolism,
I just realized that I have never been so close to "the end of the rainbow" as here.
