Why nobody thanks Frontier for the recent patch? For the 1st time they LISTENED TO US and made changes that we actually asked! So: THANK YOU FRONTIER

we are indeed grateful for the efforts to start, and I mean START, to fix the hot mess that EDO currently is. I love the ability to exit my ship and walk around, even the shooty stuff, but even without the bugs there is no depth to much of the gameplay, stuff that could and should be added, is simply not extant, and one truly hopes they get on with fixing so that they can actually start developing actual gameplay
I agree with this, but then I will ask you a simple question: in real concrete terms, what do you want to see? I mean, not big ideas, real mundane, applicable stuff?

Indeed, thanks to Fdev, my computer as now turned into a small heating ! Very nice for when it's cold outside ! I just put my feet on the casing, and instant heat !
And my GPU now act as a secondary kitchen. You won't believe all the good stuff you can cook on it, after just a few minute of playing !
It's truly amazing that Fdev managed to do that without even touching to my computer. I'd say it's wizardry ! ;)

Also, I feel Fdev should be truly recognized for having a visual novel included into the game ! Really, from a space sim game, it's mind blowing !
I can watch the picture go slowly on my screen, and I have all the time in the world to enjoy the story.

Some people, like Fortnite players and others, are too fast. Everything need to be fast, and I say, chill dude ! You can literally count the FPS as you see them ! Not many games have that feature, let me tell you that.

I feel like it was about 10years ago when I see the amazing "retro" aspect they gave to the planets. Screenshotted a few hours ago in Deciat :

I started Elite on the first day, so I was very, very used to the old one, at first I didn't like the now one because I was not used to it, but I knew out of experience that it would change, and guess what? The new UI is far superior once you've mastered it. But it is hard being honest about it. Deep inside you, you will soon agree even if you don't say it.
1. Introduce a terrible UI with many redundant clicks, many missing information
2. After complaints fix a thing or two there
3. ????
4. Expect endless praise

No, thank you. FDev should have dedicated people (who know and play the game) for the UI.
Especially when all the issues where brought to attention during alpha.

the bar tender selling drinks? maybe offering rumours of salvage and secret stashes. More to exobiology than point and click, maybe harvest chemicals or drugs from the plants?
missions that include more than one location, which allows a multiple set of games styles to be used?

You inadvertently forgot to answer my question, si I can guess it was a long time ago... It is funny, when I use Elite on my old Atari, I get 1 FPS, go figure...

So why not cheer up? Odyssey has a lot of issues but they are adressed, and the game has so much more to offer now. I also have a lot of thinngs I would like to see in the game, like more stuff to explore, but I also understand why it is difficult to do.
Because my opinions are my own? I don't have to be a Yamiks fan to be disappointed in Frontier.

This mess shouldn't have been here in the first place. Take the UI for example, all the resources and time that went into making that mess could have been spent on another part of the game. Such as the lackluster FPS.

More importantly, the over hyped dev update was a huge disappointment.

I would add disembarking on Fleet Carriers and have Apex travel there. Sometimes they could be the only saving grace for CMDRs who can't access their ship.

Well, considering the "recomended" is from 2016, and my GPU is from 2017, I'd say it's ok ?

I mean, it's not like I can really buy a new GPU this days.

But I don't know why you ask ? I really like the "carpet camo" style for the terrain. Really give it some Call of duty vibes.

Deciat, Fareseer inc (the engineer).

I have 60+FPS everywhere except FPS where I'm about 55+, so decent perf is already there. I agree it still has to improve, though. Some parts of the game slow down a lot and I have some clipping. Now, 3 weeks ago I had 30FPS with my RTX 3080ti! That sucked. So improvement is already there, like it or not. I'm just looking at the glass half-full, while you are sticking to the more convenient view of complaining about the half-empty.

Good for you. Not everybody is experiencing the same. Yeah, sure, I get 120fps (capped because I like gsync on) when in space and usually 60+ planetside etc, but then I also get < 20 fps, with an RTX 3090 in locations you would expect to be getting more (this particular one is powered down, no npc's, no windows open, no fires, nothing. Hmmmm

Wow, they added shield figures that they moved from another panel... and made some headway in fixing the UI that they broke / made worse from prior versions, meanwhile most other things now have tonnes of bugs and glitches, sometimes terrible performance and generall.. just overall in a bad state in need of some serious TLC.

I agree with you list, but do you realize that my list would be different? Every CMDR could have a different list. Issue is, from their point of view, we are legions! But I agree that they should create a tool to aggregate most standard demands.

With the FPS you get, I'm not sure to understand, why do you complain?...

Why is FPS count so important? I can get from 60 to 120, but as I said most of the time it gets capped, and it dosen't move if I change my settings. Might be some sort of internal fuse.

If I've paid for a pint, eventually getting half a pint is going to pee me right off, whichever way you think I should look at it.
