Elite Dangerous Odyssey: Server Update

Wait, it can be even slower than it is now? :D
It seems to be much faster than the in-ship combat rank so I guess it can. I just unlocked Warrior rank and I don't feel like it's going too slow or too fast.
My concern is rather the difficulty level right now. Even High CZs are not challenging for me so I don't feel like playing much more to progress higher in the ranks, but I hope we will get some more challenging stuff rather sooner than later.
 
Unrelated to this patch, but polyporous growths etc on Brain Trees are no longer destructible / lootable. Is that intentional?
 
Progress was far too slow before (many Commanders reported in on that - so grateful!!) so now we've done a spot of rebalancing to help with that.
It was hard to judge for me if it was too slow, it just seemed the XP registration was a hit-and-miss. Sometimes CZs simply didn't register (bonds and Mercenary XP) and the other on-foot activities like missions didn't make an impact on the Mercenary rating either (despite descriptions stating it should).

Greetings Commanders.

Today at approximately 14:30 UTC/ 15:30 BST we will be restarting the Odyssey servers to apply some server-side fixes. Downtime is not expected to be any longer than a few minutes.
This downtime will not affect Horizons servers.
  • Restoration missions will no longer be incompletable when putting out fires.
  • Missions to steal data from settlements will now display objectives on your HUD and the data will be available as intended.
  • Salvage missions now display objectives on your HUD and items can now be found at salvage sites.
  • Missions to take out settlement occupants will now register progress correctly.
  • Fixed an issue caused by older missions conflicting with the latest update (this would have resulted in missing HUD objectives and being unable to progress once reaching the mission location).
  • Fixed a crash caused by missions that would send you to non-settlement locations (this may take up to 12 hours to roll out).
  • Commodities that are temporarily illegal because of an active Faction State can now be sold to stations that need them for repairs.
  • Fixed an issue with Players rarely not being able to load into Horizons after playing Odyssey.
  • Rebalanced the faction influence effects from repeatedly winning & losing various scenarios at Installations & Megaships.
  • Adjusted Mercenary rank progression speed for Odyssey on foot players (it was noted by many as being too slow to progress prior to this update)
I'll be around as usual to make sure things settle in comfortably with this update, so let me know here if you experience any turbulence.

@sallymorganmoore has there been a fix for unlocking Hero Ferrari? I’ve done 14 low cz and still had no luck unlocking him! Thanks in advance

So this is actually huge news to me because we've seen people unlocking him fairly recently and I hate the thought of him being shy again for some reason! Let me get back to you asap :)

From what I have seen:
1. Relogged CZ are not counted towards progression of Hero Ferrari. You have to go back in dropship to the station and back to CZ every time.
2. Medium CZs count as Low in Codex, so if Your 14 is based on codex, it can be actually lower.

I counted eveything I did and get Hero Ferrari unlocked after 10 low, not relogged CZs.

Wow, this is really unexpected but very much welcomed! I like to do various on foot missions and it was always a pain when mission was not possible finish due bug.
