I have the same feeling about this.
While it was "fun" the first time, I rather just mine or still work on the Explorer rank , hunt some non-existant Bio signal (1) on that forsaken planet, but not that Logmageddon again. Just nope!
It's called Controlled opposition. Antagonists forces subvert a faction by forwarding an "Almost, not quite" political movement to siphon support away from the original group.
I would give real world examples of what controlled opposition looks like, but political discourse is forbidden if it's not in-game lore related, lol.
Well, the original group is fully on-board with this, so... I don't see any evidence of this.
I don't think it matters which side you pick in the CG. The reward is mainly cash which a lot of players have millions of and does anyone really notice the effect it has on the universe? I don't...
In case this is happening to anyone else, there's an issue for how the material contribution UI automatically contributes just one material whenever you try to change the amount of materials to be contributed.

Happened to me too. Every time I need to log to Horizons, keys go cahoots.I had to log on to Horizion for this GC and lost my control bindings
Good news is i dont need keys and science contact works fine.
It is switching them to the default. If you switch the drop down back to custom you should have them back.

Not lost, defaults to K & M but you should find your custom bindings listed OK still. Same happens to me so I try to remember to go to the Controls and pick my custom file before continuing to log in.I had to log on to Horizion for this GC and lost my control bindings
As someone in a squadron supporting the Marlinist Colonies through the BGS, we would definitely notice the effect this would have on us.
Getting into the role-playing and lore of the game has definitely made the game not feel like such a grind. It's a deep universe that has been created.

I'm not expecting this to have been solved over the weekend, but I'm bringing it up again so that hopefully devs see & realise that some paying Odyssey customers can't play in their timed in-game events. This issue doesn't resolve itself by playing in Horizons for a bit - it's still broken in Odyssey for the affected players!

I didn't even notice because you have to farm Jameson's in Horizons anyway, so that's what I started
If you like having direction to play Elite I would suggest joining a BGS squadron. We actually have one that supports the Marlinist Colonies and their factions. Check out the Dark Wolf Marlinists. It is fun because our actions have been actually impacting the storlyines.
