State of the Game

Does the fresh ground taste noticably better than the pre-ground?

Post covid my sense of taste seems a bit hot and miss.
I don't honestly remember - I've had the bean-to-cup maker for about 6 years, but I like to think it does ;)

The real advantage, for me, is that I can get a different blend of beans from several online suppliers, for not much more than the supermarket price!

Well, I guess it could be worse!
All hail Lord Braben and his GPU saving 8 frames per minute EDO!

Ah - a very good point! You may have just converted me, thank you o7
I've one of the De Longhi Magnificat S range, the grinder is quite noisy but the machine seems to be pretty robust construction (and allegedly makes 'hotter' espresso than much of the competition's offerings) and is easy to adjust the grind for best flavour from the current batch of beans.

I quite like the higher (30%+) rubusta blends, particularly if the robusta have had a high roast, as that gives both a 'robust' flavour, good crema and is a treat to the nose too!

I always "loved" games that were triggering GPU overheat/excessive usage in (pause) menus,
when there is no actual need to render anything (detailed) anymore.

I treat it as devs telling me "Hello, we are idiots"

On the opposite end there are games that have SEPARATE frame cap setting for menus.
Which is a very good omen, means someone there is actually a THINKING person, not a bot with a single purpose to excrete a small part of code.

Thanks again - your help is genuinely much appreciated. I'm off to do some in depth research shopping therapy random mouse clicking... what could possibly go wrong!?

It's not so much the flavor, if you ask me (which you didn't, but since when did that ever stop me?). It's the smell. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING beats the smell of freshly ground coffee beans!

If coffee tasted half as good (and I love it already) as the smell of freshly ground beans, I'd forswear everything else and eat and drink nothing else!

Same same my good man :)
I'll be honored to have you on my, ahem, list. Yeah, I know, I make it sound ominous when it really isn't, but I DO have a reputation to uphold, you know.

Send me a request or I'll send you one as soon as I get back online.

See you in the black, CMDR! Let's go see if we can't go diplomatically make our points to somebody together. It'll be FUN!

Oh, and BLAM!, of course, there'll definitely be a good deal of BLAM! involved. BLAM! is so much more fun with friends! :)
