it's funny shopping for appliances...and seeing how much samsung is like all over the place in stores with these expensive appliances ....and they universally get torn up in reliability reviews by owners for like everything they make.

I actually really like Lynches version of Dune- its a loose adaption certainly, and some acting is quite funny, but the visuals, music and a lot of the film are great.

Lynch kind of made the feudal part very European though (rather than Mediterranean / Middle Eastern like), and went all out on fusing great concepts like the mausoleum like fold ships, decor (almost steampunk) to really set it apart from the Star Wars / Alien aesthetic.

I think really its only now where cinema audiences can accept 2:30 hr films and have lots of them made that allows Dune to be closer to the book- I get the impression Lynch was making a standalone film rather than a franchise.

Plus, check out Jodorowsky's Dune, which was frankly crazy and amazing (and in some ways birthed the revival of sci fi and led to Star Wars and Alien). That deviated from the book too, but again was its own 'thing'.

cheers for the suggestion - I'll check that out 👍

Last night after much beer, wine and whiskey I thought it would be fun to put our trail cam out in the garden.
Here is a visual representation of how I feel currently, using only the medium of camera results.

Did you never learn the rule: "Never mix grape & grain"?
Self-inflicted, I say... :ROFLMAO:

...guess you won't be having Rice Crispies for breakfast then?

(Hope you feel better later!)
