State of the Game

Excellent series...

ever see that movie Titan? Well, it wasn't that good, but the premise is kind of interesting. Rather than adapt planets and space travel to humans. we would instead genetically engineer ourselves to survive in these environments we wouldn't otherwise be able to.

Fdev could have went in a similar direction to provide these kind of differentiated human populations within the game... creating different animal-ish based peoples that kind of replicate the different species of aliens in previous elite games... without having to try and explain how these different alien civilizations came to be or create all of the assets and lore surrounding them. Though the holome would need to be tweaked and it would be kind of fun trying to find your "home planet" by looking for the procedurally generated population that most closely matches whatever you selected for your character (if you didn't cheat and just base it off a known one).

That would also create tons of material for events and conflict within humanity before having to bring thargoids into the picture. As well as potentially explain how such a closely packed bunch of systems in the bubble remain independent to such a large degree ...

ever see that movie Titan?
Yes, a couple of times now
Well, it wasn't that good,
Yes, poorly implemented/produced but I'd give it a solid B
but the premise is kind of interesting.
Yes, definitely

Total coolness!

Food, diet, nourishment...

Kind of non-issue for me.
44 yo, no known health issues, more or less the same weight for the last 20 years.
I eat whatever I like whenever I like, just try to not have too large portions at once.

My "diet" to achieve this stability is simple :
if I start to have trouble fitting in my old size pants/trousers/shirts,
it means I have to eat less and restrain myself from any snacks between main meals until I can fasten my buttons with ease again.

And then, everything is allowed again, even ice cream late at night etc.

My vanity is taking care of the weight control, switching me into correct "nourishing mode" when it's necessary.

...more crap...

Yes. As you and BT say, not the best movie and could have been a lot better, but I was really into it for two things:-

1. The scientific premise and that was really interesting as you say, and got the mind wandering nicely. Aside from the artistic license in making a movie, it was pretty well done I thought.

2. It had Taylor Schilling in it, who isn't the most stunning woman out there, but she really sinks my battleship for some reason, so that was a brilliant plus.
