State of the Game

This character always weirded me out, like the clown from "IT", the first chapter of "Pet Sematary" (couldn't even finish it) and either chapter 7 or 9 of Dianetics (stopped reading it at that point), as well as a few other things over the years.
Well he is Madame 'Patty' Jiggles too:

I just need to know if there will be twatting? Asking for a friend.
Only if pints are spilled.

for all the privacy invading data collecting advertising does. why do all these commercials have absolutely nothing to do with anything I'm currently or potentially interested in?

why even bother collecting the data if you're just going to vomit the same crap you would have back before the internet and ad tracking?

Just means you' re effectively blocking/masking/obfuscating your true information.

Either that or the BIG DATA profit mechanism/algorithm hasn't been implemented as effectively as everyone thinks it is.

Likelihood of Hanlon's razor applying in this situation?

i doubt that this data is collected in an "individual" form, as in labeled with your name, but more that AI is categorizing incoming data and their relation to each other into "behavioral" or "interest" groups. Commercials try to reach target groups, which show a certain behavior or interest. Estimated age and income plays a big role in selection of a proper target group as well. Older people have pretty much all what they need and want already, whereas younger age groups might not have acquired those yet and still need them. Dependent on the product of course, most target groups address people between 25 and 45 - basically after graduation in their career-phase, where they still need a lot and their income is increasing more rapidly than later in their lives (which means one can easily sell them "buy now, pay later" options as well). Music is more easily sold to people aged 15-30 and golf equipment to the 50+ group - well, there are other reasons to address this golf-playing group like investment opportunities.

I know these are generalizations, but that is what an AI does with this data - it is labelling you based on the information you are providing - and if those are not matching target groups, you don't get interest based ads, but just those, which address the common public - like foodstuffs.

I'm betting i can target as good as such a system by just showing ads related to the content people are actually trying to consume ...than trying to target the individuals or groups of people by directly categorizing them. and my method would require no data collection.
