it's odd that race type events are still something players have to make up.. and not something fdev has noticed people like doing and made a proper cg event out of.

racing makes much more sense than cqc as a sport in elite dangerous' universe.

Back ages ago you had a Wipeout HD expansion (Fury) that was very combat heavy- in some ways it was like a racing CQC and I think FD could quite happily do something similar.
