Being able to pass from EVA to gravity through a door is complex but it's exactly the sort of complexity I want CIG to deal with. When you skip this sort of complexity, instead of a door you get a circle on the ground that teleport you in your cockpit.
Hellion was great for that transition. Also supported atmosphere controls and venting, proper airlocks, modular station control and docking, and Newtonian physics EVA. Was very cool, but RIP Hellion.
 
It's not complex unless you make it complex. Descent had doors with spaceships in 1994. Knights of the old Republic had EVA with space suits and running out of oxygen, passing through doors with differing gravity in 2003. So did many many other games.

Yet, in SC, it's complicated. Like most relationship statuses described like that, it's actually not. Just making it more complicated than it needs to be.

Oh no, there's something in the way of this door, whatever will we do. Oh no this model is too big to fit through the door. Omg this guy is falling through a door feet first. Big woop. Gimme a break already.
Of cpurse it has to be complicates to justify the years and millions of cadh wasted. They are selling people for idiots pumping mundane stuff to ultracomplexity to excuse the non-delivery. m

Yup, it was a good one (I "ouched" a bit) :)

As to the doors, the thing about CIG is that in the context of the prolonged development, every tongue-in-cheek discussion of how this and that, even if done before multiple times, is complex, can be irritating. It not only fuels the typical argumentation of unprecedented complexity, it also feels like a slap in the face.

Dont think so, no. But CIG is certainly among the few developers that do not seem to be able to fix them and make it work over almost soon to be 10+ years of development.
To be fair and to put it in the context of a regular player, I haven't been killed by a door, ramp, ship ladder or station elevator in SC for over a year. I know the issues, what causes them and intuitively avoid doing what is breaking them for many people. The latest and most recent issue with ship ramps either breaking when dropped or having players fall over and die when running up them is tied to the force physics Ci¬G stupidly added. The easy workaround is not to sprint or jump up ramps like a Duracell bunny on steroids...simple as that may seem, folk still go leaping about and wondering why they fall over. I still occasionally fall over when walking on planets for no apparent reason...stone in the boot perhaps since I don't normally leap around like a Doom player, but it's certainly irritating even though I know what's causing it.

I'm not suggesting it's the players fault by any means...it's all down to Ci¬G implementing very bad game design and pointless physical mechanics for no other reason than CR's hubris....but it's very simple to work around the design idiocy in most cases...though sometimes... it's just luck ;)

Ah, but look at the fidelity of that circle? Have you ever seen a circle with such fidelity? Never. Been. Done. Before!

Gameplay:

"At the start of July, Gameplay Story completed a two-day mo-cap shoot and are currently preparing to process the captured animations, facials, and audio.
WHO exactly are they mo-capping in 2021? I mean surely not Gary Oldman Gillian Anderson etc. Maybe they've been back once or twice since the original shoot, but not now. Considering this:
and for chapter 18 they worked on scenes for the first time
they must have all the original mocap for the 'stars', and have to create and recreate all the inevitable Roberts changes over the years by creating new mocap for all the other npcs.

That will be fun for them.

It is shaping up nicely for the 2016 release.
