Did you know that there is a genetic disposition to detecting the bitter taste of sprouts. Those without the gene cannot detect the bitterness and think that sprouts are 'just another vegetable'!

On that basis I classify sprouts as a biological weapon, and banned under Geneva Conventions!

Liver needs careful cooking to avoid becoming shoe leather. Its taste is not for everyone but its amazing.

We actually do this test at work for science communication days, with the chemical in question (PTC) given to people on some rice paper. There are still some people who can taste it but love sprouts (me included), because they like excessively bitter foods.

I mean a roadkill frog pancake might melt in the mouth with the appropriate culinary skill, but I wouldn't put that in my mouth either.
