State of the Game

Don't be too negative - we've all seen FDev bork things over the years and then it gets fixed - Horizons as it stands is pretty fabulous but at times over the years has been a firefight so just stick with Horizons for now and look forward to EDO being sorted and hopefully becoming the great game we hope it can all be...
In the meantime, feel free to join us here in our gently inane but supportive little world...
Don't worry, I absolutely love the game and even if they would have kept it at Horizons would surely continue to play it over the coming years. In waves that is: I will play for a couple of weeks, and then let go again for 3-4 months, to return again. Perhaps participate in a Distant Worlds 3, like I did for the DW2. It is just that I am not keen to play beta tester with low FPS in VR, b/c that can turn quite ugly... so I will give them the time they apparently need to get things in order before diving into ODE.

what are these "dogs" you speak of? You, of course, may have entirely different results - Odyssey is still a little curious in how it works on differing, even if very similar, hardware.
Your reply made me think - I must try VR again since GPU upgrade (RTX3070 - unexpected customer work, so 'spare' money).
I had a 2060S before, so may be worth a shout. It was pretty good overall anyway - just suffered at some settlements etc.
I've tried The Talos Principle since my upgrade, and the GFX are excellent, now I can go to Ultra. I'm really enjoying the replay of the game.

I love that slightly manic look cats get when paper or cardboard boxes are involved!! Not one to put your fingers anywhere near....
I still have unfinished levels in Talos! Certainly one of my long-term VR plays!
I'd suggest waiting until patch 7 drops before jumping back into VR (if not using Oculus) as the one single (known to us) 'fix' on NavMesh may just tip planetary stuff positive!

That's interesting.... I was just doing a search for "cat beans" to go with the cat-egg and cat-bacon - I did not know, as a cat owner, that cat's pad's were referred to as "toe beans"
