Distant Screws II: Expedition for Evelyn

Well here we are at the Penultimate jump to Waypoint 14: Dryooe Flyou XE-Q e5-2992 (Sugar Stick). Destiny has been on a long journey for almost 2 months if you can believe it. This Friday we reach our destination of Evelyn's light. We have seen, explored and made a few friends. I want to say to all who participated, I'm glad we were able to do this together and to Evelyn, I hope we did you justice little CMDR. You will always be remembered by those of us who took this journey in your honor and we shall arrive at your star soon.

Right on, CMDR Evelyn o7

"The Ancients did not devote the efforts of an entire generation to build this ship on a whim. Neither was Destiny named on a whim. Over a million years ago, the Ancients discovered the complex structure buried deep within the background radiation. The fingerprints of an intelligence that existed very near the beginning of time itself. Destiny was launched in search of that intelligence. Who knows how close we are to finding it. How close we are to learning, in the Ancients' words, "the destiny of all things." I don't pretend to know when that's going to be, in which stars it will happen, or even how that will change our view of the universe. I only know that Destiny has come this far and if we abandon her now, there'll be no coming back. All of that knowledge will be lost, forever. I believe this journey is the reason I'm here, but I can't hope to do it alone. I ask you to come with me."

Destiny is preparing to jump toward it's final destination of Evelyn's Light.

I want to thank everyone who came on this journey. Destiny will be staying at Evelyn's light for a week, then pull into dock in Colonia, where it will stay until I can finance or mine enough trit to fuel for the trip home.

Expedition Alert: Destiny jumping to Colonia.

Destiny will be jumping to Colonia to off load passengers and crew slated for Colonia.

I want to thank everyone for coming on this expedition and for Jellowiggler and his daughter. Evelyn's Light was a beautiful system and I'm glad I made the effort to come here. See you in the black Cmdrs. o7

Thank you all for coming out to Evelyn's Light.

The Distant Screws II fleet broke up into exploration groups once we paid our respects at Evelyn's LIght. We re-supplied at Colonia and headed for the great unknown.

Some commanders went out to chart the furthest point west possible, beyond the void. Others travelled back home to deal with BGS commitments that were being neglected.

I started my journey to visit Beagle Point as I have never been past SAG A.

See you out there in the black!

I'd like to thank Frontier for this awesome game and for the effort put forward for Ev.

I'd also like to thank my brothers at Loose Screws, and to all the media creators and community that spread the word and did updates along the way.

Thank you to all the commanders who came out and continue to come out to Evelyn's Light. I get pics and messages every now and then, and that is pretty cool.

Special thanks to CMDR Exeider for doing lots of the planing and putting forth ideas. Don't be a stranger!

Many thanks to CMDR RabbiBob for commemorating the Distant Screws II: Evelyn's Light expedition with this awesome coin. I know I will keep this coin and remember DSI and II, and how my star faring misfit friends and the Elite Community joined to together to share and explore and to remember Ev. Thank you!(edited)

I would also like to put forth the idea that Evelyn's Light would be used as a place to remember every one's loved ones who have passed on.

This little spot in our digital galaxy can be a beacon where anyone can come to remember the lights that have left this world, but still continue in our hearts.

I encourage you to venture to Evelyn's Light and post your screen shot here of your ship and maybe a bit about who you are remembering.

Thank you,

o7
Mike

Greetings CMDRs!
It has been a long journey, today after nearly 3 months in the black the Evening Star IV is back at its home base in Sol, two more jumps after touching base in Qama to officially complete Distant Screws 2. I feel honored of having participated to this special expedition with the very friendly community of Loose Screws CDMRs.
I like to think that little CMDR Evelyn forever shines light on our path to the unknown.

"Evelyn's Story" isn't anymore available on drewwagar.com.

If anyone could make it available here, would be perfect.
Waybackmachine didn't work either.

Apologies - website being reconstructed and not everything is back yet. I tried to migrate to a new hosting provider and it didn't work properly, so was forced to rebuilt from scratch. Should be back in the next week or so.

Cheers,

Drew.
