You know, I keep hearing people say that the "core tech team" has been doing a lot of work that's going into update 8, but I've never actually seen anyone provide a source for that info. Maybe it was mentioned in one of the streams, but I wouldn't expect Update 8, or any one specific update, to fix all of Odyssey's problems.
Even if the core tech improvement rumor is true, I doubt it'll fix everything in one go. Best to temper expectations and be pleasantly surprised when improvements do happen. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

However it doesn't matter, regardless what's been said, patch 8 MUST make noticeable performance improvements, for other reasons, it not about what they said anymore.
In addition, considering recent patches bugfests, it also have to be reliable.

Still no news of the console release??? I have more and more the feeling that it Will never happen…
As has been said a million times already Frontier will not release the console version until the PC version is up to snuff.
