Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

The figures aren't what they've spent on SC...just their streaming income. Some of them are whales...some aren't...although most of that lot have used the streaming income to buy ships over a period of several years 🤷‍♂️

Ah, my mistake.

That's pretty pants really unless its annual income for some of them. If that's the amount since they started, be better off getting a real job.

Not shocked at all, I just find it insane.
'Tis a bit, especially from the outside looking in as it were. Inside the veil of tears, we're all talking about what ships we'll be reshuffling via CCU's or melting for store credit...it gets infectious after a while. Most I know aren't spending any new cash, just melting existing game packages or a few ships here and there and pooling the store credit to get something new or just something else.

The annual whale baiting event is useful, especially if you're not planning on spending any cash at all...just reshuffling what's in your hangar as newer ships get released to flyable or older stuff that might be closer to being useful if prospective new gameplay loops look like they may be a possibility. With refuelling and possible salvage 🤭 appearing next year. The Reclaimer, both the Lesnick and Lesnick of war plus the Vulture and Vulkan seem to be popular choices for the general reshuffling this time around :)

I mean...some folk were stupid enough to add the free 'Best in show' livery paint jobs that were handed out at the IAE event a couple of years ago...you can't remove or replace them unlike the modern skins...so these war crimes need to be melted and reshuffled. It's not mine BTW...I'd be too ashamed to fly it after doing that to a Reclaimer :)

The graph shows earnings (including average monthly income) from streaming between August 2019 to September 2021...but just focusing on that particular small group of low to mid tier earners who have in the past or currently cover SC...did you actually look at it before you posted it? :D

I wonder how/if all these reshuffles reflect on the fund tracker...

Don't be silly.

Serious answer, looked and posted before morning coffee. Always a mistake.

CR is going to be dead rich.

I still stand amazed every year watching money migrate into CIG's coffers.
I’m still amazed at the amount of money flowing out of CIG-UK’s coffers and into Roberts’, especially at how the plundering has grown increasingly brazen over the years. It makes me wonder how much they’re taking from behind closed door in the other two dozen shell companies, and CIG as a whole…

Has free fly begun?

And of course it's happening during Thanksgiving Week, when my free time drops even more precipitously. I have, in theory, four hours of contiguous free time tomorrow, and then it comes in drips and drab’s until next Sunday. No “a Skeptic (restarts) Star Citizen” from me this free fly. :(. SC is even worse than ED when it comes to requiring long contiguous play times, which is really saying something. Even online Space Engineers does a better job than SC in this regard!

I don't think I want to "play it" (and I definitely don't want to buy it when the same money would give me two months of leased SE server time), but I would like to at least experience it. The big variable for me is download size and speed. I'll give it look as time allows.
