Buy the Dip...

Frontier has recently suffered a 40% value drop in their stock price. And many have said that this happening has been well deserved. I generally took the stance where I tried to warn them that this would happen if they continued the neglectful course of action. But I also realize this presents an unique opportunity for the Elite Dangerous community. If we feel that the game is finally starting to get back on the road due to our objections and desires. Then I feel we should be willing to support that by buying the stock of the company and financially support it.

Much in the same way that kickstarter campaigns work to provide capital, and I mean as game companies do that in general, but Fdev did have a kickstarter as well. I think we should take this opportunity to buy the dip, and own a piece of the company. This would allow players to give Frontier capital and make a statement. Plus as stock holders our opinions would carry more weight. Perhaps not in any legal sense, IE voting rights or anything. But it would be a statement of, We are your players AND you stockholders, which means you have a double responsibility. I feel that Fdev is finally starting to change the course on Elite Dangerous, and I don't want to see that fail right as they are working to finally correct things.

I am not giving financial advice but just asking the community to consider something, because even buying one share means something, it says you're willing to put extra money over the cost of buying the game because you believe in FDev enough to give them the chance to change course, fix the game and make it better.

Just a thought I want people to consider. Thank you.

No. Right now is a good time to buy only if you believe they will recover and turn a profit. Otherwise it doesn't matter if you own stock or not. Times like these can be a good thing because it may force them to seriously evaluate their practices. It's one thing to give your players the finger when business is good but when it takes a big hit you've got to buckle up or sink.

I just don't get games any more. In my playground days it was NES v Master System and that Mario was superior. Now? I need a bloody masters in financial services.
No, that part is entirely optional, like many aspect of the game itself.

I think the OP was merely trying to broaden the horizons of others who may not have considered that option as being available in the first place. Whether or not that is a good way to proceed is up to the individual and cerainly not a requirement.

Either that or they're really an FDev plant...which I doubt...

I thought the thread would be an advertisement for something like this

You've taken the words out of my mouth.

I'm still sore from my "investment" in EDO earlier in the year.

Edit: Also, simply throwing money at a problem isn't magically going to make it better. Just look at Dubai.

Did he say Clip?

As in Panther Clipper?
Well, the company is said to have a strong shareholder focus in their software development stratregy - what with with Oddy's release to the end of its financial year and all that.

So, if you want your clipper, go own some shares?

Another thread focusing on share prices? It isn't as if Frontier will be out of business next week - although if they are, so what? 🤷‍♂️
