I'd go with that (y)

It runs like it's having a stroke and the fans and temps are way to high even with frame capping, no issues with any other games just the lack of optimisation with odyssey.
Yeah sounds like you could be getting thermally throttled. You might be able to use MSI Afterburner to lower your max power, and a few other things, and calm things down. The idea here is to manually throttle down the GPU to get out of the thermal throttling and then go from there. Not sure if it will work though. Also a good idea to make sure the airways are clean (intake, outtake and internallly)

Also of note (within my experience):
  • When selecting Ultra or High graphics preset, FSR is now selected by default with SuperSampling set to "Performance". Changing SS to "Quality" actually seems to run better frame rates which seems counterintuitive.

  • Turning off several items in teh list between the preset and the SS/Rendering will improve performance. Bloom, and the one Ender keeps mentioning which I don't remember of the top of my head, for sure.. Others I'm not sure about yet.

Probably...

That might be why he's no longer posting here....

Sorry to all interested parties.
The oven has just gone pop so you can either wait till Friday between 0730 & 12:00 when the new one arrives or I'll have to give you a cold fishy finger.
Beer still works & you can play with the e.t. light up finger while you wait.

That is just rude.

Cutting off his finger and shrink wrapping it.

Nasty.

the solitary ongoing activity of dredgers is quite at odds with the whole nature of what a dredger is and how it stays active. How are they surviving and remaining undetected when they have to feed off debris (or create debris) from ships and stations and such? it's not like they can just survive out in uninhabited space eating bits of asteroids.

guess we're not supposed to think too hard on that subject.

Standing in line at an American chemist’s waiting for my 6G upgrade, listening to people’s horrified reactions to the cost of their medications, and they don’t seem to take kindly to me shouting “you think you have it bad!??! There was no news of Odyssey on consoles from Arf this morning!!!”

I’m going to try offering them eggs.

They don't need to live off stuff they find, their mums made a massive packed lunch centuries ago and are still living off of it.
Scotch eggs have a surprisingly long shelf life.

Once again thank you for running my North American subsidiary of TTE.

Brings back memories of the fools I used to serve in the pharmacy. They'd complain paying out seven pounds fiddy for ten tablets, when I wish I could tell them that diddy box cost hundreds.
