Update 1.8 coming to Planet Zoo, 14 December 🍽️

In the original novel Bambi is a roe deer but he was changed to a white-tailed deer for the movie.
And then those stupid People that always mess up Deer in translated Media called it a Roedeer in the German Version of the Movie as far as I know. Did they never see a Roedeer? They look completely different 🤦🏻‍♂️
Also not sure because as I said I've never seen the Movie but isn't there also at least one Skunk Character in that Movie? What's that supposed to be then according to this Logic?

I think there might be these animals for two reasons:

1) LYNX - EUROPEAN WILD BOAR - RED FOX - BROW BEAR - FALLOW DEER - EUROPEAN OTTER - CHAMOIS - ALPINE IBEX (similarity with other animals present in game and therefore with models only to be edited).

2) RED DEER (the presence of the statue and the topiary model).

Time is flying! It feels like I spent maybe 10 hours with the latest DLC, and I have not even once played with the (amazing!!!) free lemur. Why am I not paid for playing Planet Zoo?!

As always, the update info got me hyped! I think restaurants will make the zoo design a lot more interesting and offer a lot more layout options, so this is great news! And the shop counters as well.

Burrows are great, don't exactly scream "birds" to me and I'm very curious which (new) animals are going to use that! The memorials aren't so important for me, but I know that it will be a very dear feature for many.

I must say I'm one of the few people who aren't too excited about a European DLC (and I think it is very probable). It just feels too close to the North American biome. So I hope it will have a focus on southern Europe (restaurant announcement said mediterranean, which I'd appreciate). But it all depends on the animal selection, and I bet there will be some sort of surprise.

Oh, and not to forget: I'm so glad the update will drop already on the 14th! This means I have a few days to explore it before "driving home for Christmas" :)

The skunk character has no analogue in the original book and was added to make the movie more appealing for children. The rabbit character from the films was a hare in the book.

Most excited about the burrows and boxless shops. Could you please also make these for the gift shops as well? I think we can make absolutely wonderful gift shops without the boxes around our staff.

I'm not sure about the restaurants yet. I find my guests use nearby tables to food and drink shops anyway so I'm not sure what the point is of linking them. I'll have to wait and see how this works in practice before I get super excited.

Playing mostly in sandbox with immortal animals the memorials are not super important for me, but I can totally see them working in franchise or challenge modes. Again, I'll have to wait and see how they work in practice before I get hyped about these.

I hope to any gods that will listen that we aren't given the Eurasian otter. That would be two different river otter species that are very regionalised or niche, and it would pretty much stamp out any hope of seeing the Asian small-clawed otter.

I understand that the Asian small clawed is more common in zoos all over the world, but I wouldn't call the Eurasian otter "very regionalised" when it's the otter that has the largest distribution area and ranges from North Africa to Skandinavia and even overlaps with the small Asian one, so it has the grassland, temperate, tropical, taiga and tundra biomes.

In any case, I prefer to have a red deer over the otter.

I wouldn't call the Eurasian otter niche, but I agree the ASCO is far far more common.
